Optimization of Wind‐PV Co‐Generation Systems Using Artificial Bee Colony and Back‐to‐Back Voltage Source Converter

open access: yesIET Smart Energy Systems, EarlyView.
The Graphical Abstract depicts the proposed Artificial Bee Colony algorithm‐based optimal tuning of PI controllers for back‐to‐back Voltage Source Converters in a hybrid wind–PV system. ABSTRACT This paper proposes a hybrid model‐based back‐to‐back voltage‐source converter (B2B‐VSC) system comprising a Photovoltaic (PV) array and a Permanent Magnet ...

Electron density estimation from measurements of spacecraft potential using Solar Orbiter

open access: yesAstronomy & Astrophysics
Context. Measurements of spacecraft potential (Vsc) are an important tool for plasma diagnostics. High-resolution Vsc measurements can be calibrated with low-cadence observations of electron plasma frequency to derive high-resolution electron density ...

Critically Ill Children Show Disrupted Sleep Patterns and Atypical Electroencephalograms: An Observational Cohort Study

open access: yesActa Paediatrica, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Aim Sleep disruptions are common in hospitalised children. This study described sleep in critically ill and non‐critically ill hospitalised children, including young infants and patients with central nervous system injuries. Methods This observational cohort study included two groups: critically ill children admitted to a paediatric intensive ...

Embedding Optimization of Layouts via Distortion Minimization

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract Given an embedding of a layout in the surface of a target mesh, we consider the problem of optimizing the embedding geometrically. Layout embeddings partition the surface into multiple disk‐like patches, making them particularly useful for parametrization and remeshing tasks, such as quad‐remeshing, since these problems can then be solved on ...

Persistent in vitro nociceptor hyperexcitability and axonal retraction produced by repeated paclitaxel doses

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
Repeated paclitaxel exposure causes long‐lasting nociceptor hyperexcitability and axonal retraction in adult sensory neurons. Using a long‐term primary nociceptor culture, we show that hyperexcitability is mediated by sequential upregulation of NaV1.8, TRPV1, TRPA1, and TRPM8 channels.

Collective identities of VSCs: influencing factors and impact

open access: yesEuropean Journal for Sport and Society
This paper explores the positive effects and factors that shape collective identities within voluntary sport clubs (VSCs). As the role and development of collective identities in VSCs remain poorly understood, Classic Institutional Theory is combined with Social Identity Theory to identify the micro- and organisational-level factors that shape these ...
