Iterative Residual Rescaling: An Analysis and Generalization of LSI
We consider the problem of creating document representations in which inter-document similarity measurements correspond to semantic similarity. We first present a novel subspace-based framework for formalizing this task. Using this framework, we derive a

A Practical and Flexible De Novo Synthesis of Deoxygenated Carbasugars and Their Cyclitol Epoxides
A de novo synthesis route comprising enantioselective Brown crotylation and ring‐closing metathesis as the key steps enables the synthesis of a‐ and b‐carba‐paratose, a‐ and b‐carba‐colitose as well as four configurational deoxycyclophellitol isosteres.

Abstract Objective Focal cortical dysplasia (FCD) causes drug‐resistant epilepsy requiring presurgical evaluation. Invasive electroencephalographic (EEG) studies demonstrate that sleep modulates epileptic activity, including interictal epileptiform discharges (IEDs), fast oscillations (FOs) in the beta (14–40 Hz) and gamma (40–80 Hz) frequency bands ...

The VSM under a Complex Systems Framework: The Multiprocesses (MP VSM)
"This paper deals with the evolution of the Viable System Model (VSM) from its origins within the classical systems theory to its evolution whitin the complex systems theory. New visions and concepts are included in a new version of it, call it the Multiprocesses Management Viable Systems Model (MP VSM).

Arsonic acid containing diblock copolymers are developed to incorporate arsonic acid moieties for surface anchoring to IONPs, along with water soluble PEG blocks to impart colloidal stability in aqueous environments. The resulting polymer‐coated IONPs are evaluated for stability in physiological media and cytocompatibility.

Biosurfactant was produced by Pseudomonas aeruginosa using andiroba waste from Amazonia. A biosurfactant–alginate composite (Alg/BioS) was successfully synthesized via ionotropic gelation, and achieved up to 70% Cr6+ removal from water. Abstract Environmental contamination by heavy metals represents a significant challenge due to their persistence in ...
