Computations of the accuracy of VSM
Proceedings of 20th Biennial Conference on Precision Electromagnetic Measurements, 2002The accuracy of the measurements by vibrating-sample magnetometer (VSM) has been studied by the computations of the sensitivity function. The arrangement of the coils is important to approach a wide spatial-uniformity of the sensitivity function. The errors due to the directional displacements of the sphere are lower than 2% if the mis-alignments are ...

VSM growth is stimulated in sympathetic neuron/VSM cocultures: role of TGF-β2 and endothelin
American Journal of Physiology-Heart and Circulatory Physiology, 2000Sympathetic nerves are purported to stimulate blood vessel growth. The mechanism(s) underlying this stimulation has not been determined. With use of an in vitro coculture model, the present study tests the hypothesis that sympathetic neurons stimulate the growth of vascular smooth muscle (VSM) and evaluates potential mechanisms mediating this ...

“Tektology”, VSM and the digital age
KybernetesPurposeI examine Bogdanov’s notion of Tektology within the context of modern communication systems and political agendas.Design/methodology/approachThe practicality of Tektology from the perspective of 21st century sensibilities.FindingsI argue that, like the implications of creating a suitable environment in Red Star, the practicality of enabling ...

The Similarity Computing of Documents Based on VSM
2008 32nd Annual IEEE International Computer Software and Applications Conference, 2008The precision and efficiency of the similarity computing of documents is the foundation and key of other documents processing. In this paper, the DF and TF-IDF algorithms are improved. First, DF's time complexity is linear which suits mass documents processing, but it has the fault that exceptional useful features may be deleted, so we make up that by ...

Endothelial integrity is critical in mitigating a vicious cascade of secondary injuries following acute ischemic stroke (AIS). Matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9), a contributor to endothelial integrity loss, is elevated during stroke and is associated with worsened stroke outcome.
