Natural history of liver disease in a large international cohort of children with Alagille syndrome: Results from the GALA study

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
Natural history of liver disease in a large international cohort of children with Alagille syndrome: Results from the GALA study. Abstract Background and Aims Alagille syndrome (ALGS) is a multisystem disorder, characterized by cholestasis. Existing outcome data are largely derived from tertiary centers, and real‐world data are lacking.

Hardness, VSM, cyclic voltammetric and DFT studies of Cesium Sulphate-doped TGS crystals

open access: yesФізика і хімія твердого тіла
The creation of capacitors, transducers, sensors, and infrared detectors utilise the nonlinear, ferroelectric triglycine sulphate (TGS) crystal. Cesium sulphate is incorporated into the lattice of TGS crystal to change its characteristics. Cesium sulfate-

An Improved Value Stream Mapping to Prioritize Lean Optimization Scenarios Using Simulation and Multiple-Attribute Decision-Making Method

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
Manufacturing organizations have been witnessing transformation in business strategy from mass production to lean philosophy. Value Stream Mapping (VSM) is one of the primary analytical tools for identifying waste and transforming the production ...

Liquid Metal Microrobots for Magnetically Guided Transvascular Navigation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Liquid metal‐based microrobots combine magnetic steering, intrinsic X‐ray visibility and softness, to navigate blood vessels even against flow. Under clinically relevant magnetic fields, liquid metal microrobots roll along vessel walls, cross endothelial barriers, and accumulate in target tissues.

Research on Control Strategy of Power Conversion System Based on Virtual Oscillator Control

open access: yesZhongguo dianli
In response to the problems of slow synchronization speed and poor active power tracking effect in traditional control methods of energy storage converters, this paper proposes a control strategy for energy storage converters based on virtual oscillator ...

Mechanical strain induces growth of vascular smooth muscle cells via autocrine action of PDGF. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
The effect of cyclic mechanical strain on growth of neonatal rat vascular smooth muscle (VSM) cells were examined. Cells were grown on silicone elastomer plates subjected to cyclic strain (60 cycle/min) by application of a vacuum under the plates. A 48 h

Nonlinear force-free field modeling of a solar active region using SDO/HMI and SOLIS/VSM data

open access: yes, 2012
We use SDO/HMI and SOLIS/VSM photospheric magnetic field measurements to model the force-free coronal field above a solar active region, assuming magnetic forces to dominate.

Volatile substance misuse among high school students in South America [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
This article summarizes data from a 2004 study of over 300,000 high school students (aged 13–18 years) in nine South American countries. A probabilistic sample targeted urban secondary schools, utilizing a self-administered questionnaire on prevalence ...

Photochemical Fuel Carrier Molecules for Robotic Embodied Energy

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We designed a novel fuel carrier photoresponsive molecule for on‐demand energy storage and release. Carrier molecules undergo bond scission under UV light to release chemical fuel and locally generate propulsive Marangoni flows. We demonstrate this photochemical embodied energy strategy in small‐scale robots and active matter systems, enabling ...
