The VSWR of E-plane dihedral horns
IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 1978In order to better understand the mechanisms to be controlled to produce low VSWR in horn antennas, a series of computations using a moment method solution has been made for a dihedral horn antenna. Techniques are developed for eliminating the primary source of high VSWR for the E -plane dihedral horn.

Problem of measuring large VSWRs
Measurement Techniques, 1965There exists for each VSWR an immersion area (or zone) in which the error due to the probe conductance is insignificant. Therefore, large VSWR values should be measured with immersions corresponding to that area (see Fig. 3).

Influences of CUT on the VSWR of GTEM Cell
2009 20th International Zurich Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility, 2009The GTEM cell method to measuring shielding effectiveness is accepted by ANSI/SCTE48-3 2004, but there is no analysis of the influences of the introduction of cable under test(CUT) on the VSWR of GTEM cell, which will result in measure error. The influences of the size, position, shape and direction of CUT is analyzed by simulation, and the influences ...

DEVELOPMENT OF AN OMNIDIRECTIONAL AND LOW-VSWR ULTRA WIDEBAND ANTENNA
International Journal on Wireless & Optical Communications, 2006This paper reports an omnidirectional-in-azimuth and low voltage-standing-wave-ratio (VSWR) ultra-wideband (UWB) monopole antenna that we constructed as a prototype for the Federal Communications Commission-approved UWB frequency band (3.1–10.6 GHz). Most wideband antennas (e.g. double-ridged waveguide horn, monocone antenna) do not simultaneously meet

Active VSWR Robustness Comparison for Different Phase Combining Topologies
2021 19th IEEE International New Circuits and Systems Conference (NEWCAS), 2021This paper presents a comparative study on the resilience to load variations brought by combining structures for amplifier topologies. Three out-of-phase four-way combining topologies based on Wilkinson combiners, 90° and 180° hybrid couplers are compared with a conventional in-phase four-way combining topology based on Wilkinson combiners.

Simulation of VSWR in axisymmetric coaxial connector
Asia-Pacific Conference on Environmental Electromagnetics, 2003. CEEM 2003. Proceedings., 2003In this paper the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method and the transmission lines (TL) method are used respectively in the calculation of voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) in an axisymmetric coaxial connector with nonuniform medium. Numerical results between the two methods are compared; more details of signal propagation in the connector can ...

Real time measurement of VSWR with directional couplers
ICMMT 4th International Conference on, Proceedings Microwave and Millimeter Wave Technology, 2004., 2005In this paper a method of measuring VSWR is introduced and discussed. In this method, first, the power of incident wave and reflected wave is measured separately with relevant directional coupler and detector. Then the magnitude of voltage reflection coefficient and VSWR are calculated by MCU.

Broad-band VSWR measurements of a Cassegrain antenna
IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 1978Broadband VSWR measurements are reported on a small F -number Cassegrain antenna. Cyclical variations of VSWR between 1.00 and 1.25 with a 350-MHz frequency interval between unity VSWR values were observed over the 8.5-12.4 GHz frequency range. These variations correspond to a change in the power transmission ratio of 1.231 percent between the unity ...

Limitations of the Free Space VSWR Measurements for chamber validations
AMTA 2016 Proceedings, 2016Free Space VSWR measurement has been the de facto standard method for anechoic chamber performance evaluation for more than 50 years. In this method, a probe antenna is first kept parallel with the boresight angle while traveling along a linear path to record the receive pattern.
