Decoupling probe method of measuring very high VSWR

Proceedings of the IEEE, 1967
By using a conventional slotted-line technique, a high value of VSWR can be measured by initially obtaining a reading at the V min , and then, without changing the meter scale, decoupling the probe in successive increments until the V max is reached.

A Low VSWR Matching Technique (Correspondence and Authors' Reply)

IRE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 1957
I would like to call your attention to a certain error in the above correspondence. The admittance function plotted by the author on the Smith chart winds counter-clockwise. This is contrary to the laws of nature for passive linear networks. These laws prescribed that the plot of the admittance function wind clockwise from the low to the high frequency.

Study of Active VSWR in a Reduced BFN Antenna Array

2019 IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation and USNC-URSI Radio Science Meeting, 2019
in this work, we explore the potentiality of a reconfigurable antenna with a particular excitation scheme to reduce the complexity of its Beam forming Networks (BFN). An example based on a 7×7 stacked microstrip patches with 15% of the elements excited has been investigated, to optimize the overall performances, and especially the active reflection ...

Electrical properties of an un-cooled microwave waveguide applicator—VSWR

Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics, 2003
Work in microwave plasma generation at the University of Wollongong has resulted in a succession of plasma applicators that utilize rectangular waveguides to generate a collimated microwave plasma beam suitable for applications as diverse as spectroscopic light sources or as fusion welding tools. This paper examines in detail the electrical properties,

Improving TV Transmitter System VSWR and Related Frequency Response

IEEE Transactions on Broadcasting, 1975
This paper establishes the quantitative relation between a TV transmitter load VSWR and the system frequency response. The need for a low value of VSWR is stressed, particularly for multimode transmitting systems.

VSWR of Broad-Band Waveguide Series-T Junction (Correspondence)

IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 1963
The technique of using /spl lambda//sub g/ /2 transformers in a waveguide series-T junction to obtain low VSWR's over broad bandwidths has already been presented in the literature. VSWR's less than 1.15 for transmission through the aligned arms, and less than 1.30 for transmission around the bend, were reported for bandwidths of 17.4 per cent.

Impact of VSWR and RF losses on electron tube performance

2008 IEEE 35th International Conference on Plasma Science, 2008
Summary form only given. In fusion applications, the performance of tetrodes are strongly linked to two main parameters: the standing wave ratio, VSWR, any phase, and the RF losses. The aim of this paper is to analyze these two items and their consequences on the operating point of electron tube.

Application-Specific VSWR Optimized Design of IC- Stripline

2019
The optimisation of VSWR performance of the several IC-Striplines is demonstrated. The optimisation is performed using response surface space mapping technique. The measurements of the manufactured IC-Striplines demonstrated VSWR less than 1.25 in the frequency range up to ~5 GHz.

Pass-Band VSWR of Maximally Flat Band-Pass Filters (Correspondence)

IRE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 1962
Microwave band-pass filters using high-Q cavity resonators can often be designed for almost negligible midband dissipation losses (i.e.,
