[New regulations concerning EHEC/VTEC].
Lakartidningen, 2017New regulations concerning EHEC/VTEC Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome (HUS) is the most severe complication to an infection with EHEC (enterohemorrhagic E. coli), also called VTEC (verocytotoxin-producing E. coli). Risk of severe complications such as HUS is an important reason why the Swedish Communicable Diseases Act (Smittskyddslag.

Vero cytotoxigenic Escherichia coli (VTEC) O157
2016This chapter describes a cluster of diarrhoeal disease caused by E.coli O157 in a case scenario involving infection following a farm visit, and possible subsequent spread within a nursery. Background information on the epidemiology of E.coli O157 indicates the role of farm contact in infection, and the risk factors for transmission.

Verocytotoxin-producing Escherichia coli (VTEC) infections
2011Verocytotoxin (VT)-producing Escherichia coli (VTEC), also known as Shiga toxin producing E. coli (STEC), are zoonotic agents, which cause a potentially fatal illness whose clinical spectrum includes diarrhoea, haemorrhagic colitis, and the haemolytic uraemic syndrome (HUS).

[Treatment in initial stage of VTEC infection].
Nihon rinsho. Japanese journal of clinical medicine, 2002Verocytotoxin producing Escherichia coli(VTEC) causes gastrointestinal infections worldwide. In at most 8% of the children in Japan who are infected with VTEC, hemolytic-uremic syndrome(HUS) develops soon after the onset of diarrhea. Treatment with antibiotics does not ameliorate VTEC infections, and in some studies from western countries, it has been ...

[Renal pathology of VTEC related HUS].
Nihon rinsho. Japanese journal of clinical medicine, 1997Renal histopathology of verotoxin producing escherichia coli(VTEC) related hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS) was described. Endothelial damage is expressed in renal small arteries and glomeruli as luminal narrowing due to endothelial swelling and subendothelial edema. Extracellular matrix shows reticularization and/or mesangiolysis in glomeruli. Although

Prevalence of Salmonella, Campylobacter and VTEC on pig farms.
Mededelingen (Rijksuniversiteit te Gent. Fakulteit van de Landbouwkundige en Toegepaste Biologische Wetenschappen), 2005Four different pig farms were sampled for the prevalence of Salmonella, Campylobacter and verotoxigenic E. coli (VTEC). Pigs of different age groups and pigs of the same age were tested by taking rectal swabs. The farm environment was tested by examining overshoes, and the feed and drinking water in the pens.

We present an expansion of the near real-time VTEC maps over Europe produced by the ROB-IONO software (Bergeot et al., 2014) from multi-constellation GNSS data to a global scale. For this purpose, we use median polish kriging to interpolate the VTEC data, which is a purely statistical technique that does not rely on background ionospheric models.
