An Injection‐Molded Modified Silicone Rubber for Cancer‐on‐Chip Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, Volume 10, Issue 6, March 18, 2025.
This study describes the characterization and application of an injection‐molded functionalized PDMS fluidic insert for the commercially available Micronit system. Modified PDMS can accommodate cell culture and is able to covalently bind proteins for long‐lasting coatings under flow‐conditions.

Synergistic effect of land-use and vegetation greenness on vulture nestling body condition in arid ecosystems

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2018
Climate-driven environmental change and land-use change often interact in their impact on biodiversity, but these interactions have received little scientific attention. Here we study the effects of climate-driven environmental variation (i.e. vegetation

Fabrication Optimization of van der Waals Metasurfaces: Inverse Patterning Boosts Resonance Quality Factor

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
An optimized fabrication approach for the nanostructuring of optical metasurfaces from van der Waals materials like hexagonal boron nitride is presented. The resonator geometries show enhanced geometric homogeneity, resulting in a significant increase in quality factors of symmetry‐protected bound states in the continuum resonances.

Carbon‐Coated Moth‐Eye Structure: An Ultrabroadband THz‐DUV Near‐Perfect Absorber

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
A silicon moth‐eye surface coated with pyrolytic carbon achieves >98% absorption from 1 to 1200 THz by combining gradient‐index matching with PyC's broadband conductivity, forming an ultra‐broadband absorber from THz to deep UV. Experimental results and simulations agreed well.
