Subchannel analysis of nanofluids application to VVER-1000 reactor

Chemical Engineering Research and Design, 2013
Abstract In this study a thermal-hydraulic analysis is performed of nanofluids as a coolants in subchannels in hot fuel assembly of VVER-1000 reactor by subchannel method. Water-based nanofluids containing various volume fractions of Al2O3 nanoparticles are analyzed.

COMPUTER SIMULATION OF THERMOPHYSICAL PROCESSES IN THE VVER-1000 NUCLEAR REACTOR

Bulletin D. Serikbayev of EKTU, 2023
The priority use of water-water reactors in the nuclear power industry is due to their advantages. Water is ideally suited as a moderator and refrigerant, providing compactness, high power and simple reactor design. Water-water reactors have high resistance and self-regulation due to the negative temperature

NEUTRON-PHYSICAL CALCULATION OF THE VVER-1000 ON MOX-FUELED REACTOR

Energy Systems, 2023
The use of mixed uranium-plutonium fuel in thermal reactors makes it possible to effectively use highly toxic weapons-grade plutonium for peaceful purposes. The world's reserves of such plutoni-um are a serious problem. The use of this fuel in thermal reactors significantly reduces the amount of enriched uranium needed, as well as to dispose of ...

Application of global optimization to VVER-1000 reactor diagnostics

Progress in Nuclear Energy, 2003
Problems of reactor equipment diagnostics are formulated as inverse eigenvalue problems. Numerical methods of solving the inverse problems are presented. Incompleteness of spectral data results in the error function being non-convex. As the function has numerous local minima, it is necessary to use global optimization methods.
