An efficient solver for nearshore flows based on the WAF method

Coastal Engineering, 2001
Abstract We describe an efficient and robust flow solver for the integration of the classic Nonlinear Shallow Water Equations (NSWE) on a beach of arbitrary topography. On the basis of the ‘shock capturing’ Weighted Average Flux (WAF) method, a numerical code is implemented which employs a space-splitting technique to integrate the NSWE over a ...

Improving ModSecurity WAF with Machine Learning Methods

2020
Web Application Firewall (WAF) is a security technology that helps mitigate and prevent common attacks in web applications. Designed as a barrier between the web server and the user (possibly an attacker), the WAF analyzes, detects, and early warns of possible attacks.

Analysis of ADER and ADER-WAF schemes

IMA Journal of Numerical Analysis, 2006
We study stability properties and truncation errors of the finite-volume ADER schemes on structured meshes as applied to the linear advection equation with constant coefficients in one-, two- and three-spatial dimensions. Stability of linear ADER schemes is analysed by means of the von Neumann method.

WAF-based document clustering algorithm

Proceedings of 2011 International Conference on Computer Science and Network Technology, 2011
This paper proposes a novel document cluster algorithm based on Word Activation Forces (WAFs), a type of newly presented statistics‥ A matrix of WAFs captures the information of terms occurrence and co-occurrence in a document, reflecting the underlying semantics that have not ever been considered from the current document representations.

WAF extraction methods of foetal electrocardiogram

International Journal of Biomedical Engineering and Technology, 2011
The well-being and status of the fetus can be assessed from foetal electrocardiogram (fECG) signal. Extraction of the fECG that is embedded in the maternal ECG (mECG) is a challenging problem. In this paper, a wavelet decomposition along with two-stage adaptive filtering (WAF) is used to extract the fECG from the maternal abdominal signal.

A new WAF architecture with machine learning for resource-efficient use

Computers & Security, 2021
Abstract Web Application Firewalls penalizes everyone, including latency in all requests, whether they are malicious or not. Several studies have reported the benefits of using Machine Learning to extract new rules to detect malware and malicious web requests.

p53, mdm-2, and p21 waf-1 in the Porokeratoses

The American Journal of Dermatopathology, 1999
The etiology of the porokeratoses is unknown. Overexpression of the p53 tumor suppressor protein and disregulated cell cycle control have been pathogenically implicated. The p53 tumor suppressor gene product is regulated by mdm2 and both gene products influence cell cycle progression through the cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor p21. Thirty-three cases
