From Food to Power: Hydrogel Thermoelectrics for Ingestible Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We introduce a fully edible thermoelectric–electrochromic platform that harvests heat from food and converts it into a visible color change. N‐type and p‐type hydrogel thermoelectric generators connected in series power anthocyanin‐based electrochromic displays, demonstrating the feasibility of safe, biodegradable, ingestible systems for on‐food ...

Genetic progression and the waiting time to cancer.

open access: yesPLoS Computational Biology, 2007
Cancer results from genetic alterations that disturb the normal cooperative behavior of cells. Recent high-throughput genomic studies of cancer cells have shown that the mutational landscape of cancer is complex and that individual cancers may evolve ...

An Edible H2O2 Biosensor for Gastrointestinal Metabolites and Peroxidase Enzyme Quantification

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
We present an edible biosensor for gastric fluid analysis that integrates a caffeic acid–horseradish peroxidase redox system into an edible electrolyte‐gated transistor. The device enables rapid, low‐volume detection of H2O2 and, with minimal modification, metabolites and enzyme activity in simulated gastrointestinal conditions.

Correlated continuous-time random walks: combining scale-invariance with long-range memory for spatial and temporal dynamics

open access: yes, 2013
Standard continuous time random walk (CTRW) models are renewal processes in the sense that at each jump a new, independent pair of jump length and waiting time are chosen.

High‐Throughput Generation of Tumor Spheroids via Droplet Microfluidics for siRNA‐Loaded Nanomedicine Assessment

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A droplet microfluidic platform is employed to enable high‐throughput, uniform tumor spheroid generation for evaluating siRNA‐loaded nanomedicines at the protein level. As a proof of concept, breast (MCF‐7) and brain (U87 MG) cancer cell lines are investigated using this platform, revealing penetration profiles and therapeutic responses between the two

Time and Waiting: The Fulcrum of Palestinian Identity

open access: yesArab Studies Quarterly, 2019
The theoretical concepts of time and waiting have evolved mostly around the units of clocks and calendars. The Palestinians have been forced to let waiting be part of their national and cultural life.
