Effect of Propeller Suction on Wake

open access: bronzeJournal of the Society of Naval Architects of Japan, 1975
To examine the relation between effective wake fraction and propeller thrust loading coefficient, the contraction of flow in front of a propeller due to propeller suction was studied by use of the flow visualization method. It was shown that the rate of the contraction depends mainly upon the propeller thrust loading coefficient and is nearly estimated

Sleep–Wake Disturbances: Common Side Effect

open access: yesClinical Journal of Oncology Nursing, 2021
For sleep-wake disturbances, standards of care are based on established evidence-based practice. Sleep-wake disturbances are defined as ongoing issues with sleep or daytime sleepiness (e.g., circadian rhythm disorder, hypersomnia, insomnia, narcolepsy, sleep apnea). Sleep-wake disturbances are estimated to occur in 35%-75% of patients with ...

Study on Complex Wake Characteristics of Yawed Wind Turbine Using Actuator Line Method

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering, 2023
In modern large-scale wind farms, power loss caused by the wake effect is more than 30%, and active yaw control can greatly reduce the influence of the wake effect by deflecting the wind turbine’s wake.
