Detecting ship wakes for the study of coastal processes
Wakes from contemporary vessels may affect, and in some places dominate, coastal processes in the vicinity of major shipping lanes. The analysis of the properties and impact of wakes has generally been restricted to wakes that can be visually observed in

Objective The study aimed to identify symptom‐based predictors of dry eye disease (DED) signs in the Sjögren's International Collaborative Clinical Alliance (SICCA) cohort. Methods We performed a retrospective analysis examining 16 ocular symptoms (most graded 0–4) and artificial tear (AT) use (graded 0–3) as predictors of DED signs (abnormal ocular ...

Aerodynamics of Flight Formations in Birds: A Quest for Energy Efficiency
While the formation flight of birds offers numerous benefits, such as reduced predation risk, improved orientation, and enhanced communication, the aerodynamic interactions between birds are not fully understood due to their inherent complexity.

Application of particle image velocimetry to wind turbine wakes
Wind turbine performance is critically dependent on the geometry of the rotor wake. Acquisition of detailed wake data is of major importance for further development of wind turbine studies.

Nondestructive Testing of Welded Composite Metal Foams
X‐ray computed tomography (CT) is used to evaluate welded steel–steel composite metal foam (CMF) joints of two density classes. It reports variation in postweld spatial void distribution and correlates it to weld‐induced changes, mechanical performance, and failure within welded CMF panels.

A Six Degrees of Freedom Dynamic Wire-Driven Traverse
A novel support mechanism for a wind tunnel model is designed, built, and demonstrated on an aerodynamic platform undergoing dynamic maneuvers, tested with periodic motions up to 20 Hz.

Wakes Calculation in a Offshore Wind Farm
This paper is focusing on the wake modeling in large offshore wind farms. Over the sea the ambient turbulence is much lower than onshore, wakes persist for long distances, mixing in a complex pattern.

Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.

ObjectivesThis study proposes a vortex-generator array (VGA) design to effectively suppress the enhancement of circumferential non-uniformity and flow unsteadiness in the propeller wake fields, which are caused by the downstream evolution of horseshoe ...
