In this paper we propose a new family of estimators, Minimum Density Power Divergence Estimators (MDPDE), as a robust generalization of maximum likelihood estimators (MLE) for the loglinear model with multinomial sampling by using the Density Power Divergence (DPD) measure introduced by Basu et al. (1998).

There are three types of electromagnetic potentials in Kerr-Newman backgrounds. The first type potential is a self-consistent potential, which was considered by Carter in 1968.

Misspecification in Generalized Linear Mixed Models and Its Impact on the Statistical Wald Test
Generalized linear mixed models are commonly used in repeated measurement studies and account for the dependence between observations obtained from the same experimental unit.

We consider the problem of robust inference under the generalized linear model (GLM) with stochastic covariates. We derive the properties of the minimum density power divergence estimator of the parameters in GLM with random design and use this estimator to propose robust Wald-type tests for testing any general composite null hypothesis about the GLM ...

Two models for linear comparative calibration [PDF]
We consider the comparative calibration problem in the case when linear relationship is assumed between two considered measuring devices with possibly different units and precisions.

Decline in empathy levels and sex differences in medical students from the Caribbean
Introduction: Empathy is an important trait in the training of medical students, as it has been shown that it improves the doctor-patient relationship. Objective: To evaluate the decline of empathy levels and possible sex differences in undergraduate ...

Robust Wald-Type Tests of One-Sided Hypotheses in the Linear Model [PDF]
Abstract Let us consider the linear model Y = Xθ + E in the usual matrix notation, where the errors are iid. Our main objective is to develop robust Wald-type tests for a large class of hypotheses on θ; by robust we mean robustness in terms of size and power against long-tailed error distributions.

Examining DIF in the Context of CDMs When the Q-Matrix Is Misspecified
The rise in popularity and use of cognitive diagnostic models (CDMs) in educational research are partly motivated by the models’ ability to provide diagnostic information regarding students’ strengths and weaknesses in a variety of content areas.
