Physicochemical characteristics of ashes deposited on a wall flow diesel particulate filter of compression ignition engine

open access: yesCase Studies in Chemical and Environmental Engineering, 2023
The investigation of physicochemical characteristics of metal oxide ashes, deposited on a diesel particulate filter, was conducted using electron microscopy, energy dispersive spectroscopy, X-Ray fluorescence, and X-Ray diffractometry techniques. Iron is

Protocol for quantifying miRNA trafficking across the endosomal membrane

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
An in vitro protocol measures miRNA uptake into endosomes isolated from mammalian cell extracts, which are free of subcellular contaminants. Performed at 37 °C in the presence of ATP, it ensures the import of single‐stranded miRNA into the endosomal lumen.

White Matter and Perivascular Imaging Changes in Alzheimer's Disease and Cerebral Amyloid Angiopathy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Peak‐width of skeletonized mean diffusivity (PSMD) and diffusion tensor imaging–analysis along the perivascular space (DTI‐ALPS), reflecting white matter integrity and glymphatic function, are altered in Alzheimer's disease (AD).

Water Model Test of 58t Tundish with Channel Filter for Two Strands Slab Casting and Application

open access: yesTeshugang, 2018
The effect of channel filter on fluid field of liquid in a 58t tundish has been studied by using geometric similarity 0.29 : 1 water model to test liquid flow by both control flow devices- turbulence controller + retaining wall + dam and turbulence ...

Simulation of Particle Structure Rearrangement and Reaction in Wall-Flow Filters at High Flow Velocities with Lattice Boltzmann Methods

open access: yesFluids
Wall-flow filters are used in exhaust gas after treatment systems to reduce particulate matter emissions from internal combustion engines. The particles accumulate on the filter surface during operation, forming a layer that progressively increases the ...

Impact of Particulate Size During Deep Loading on DPF Management

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2019
Wall-flow particulate filters are a required emission control device to abate diesel emission in order to comply with current regulations. DPFs (diesel particulate filters) are characterized by high filtration efficiency—but in order to avoid ...

Endothelial Cell Proteins as Biomarkers in Susac Syndrome

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Susac syndrome (SS) is a rare CD8+ T cell–mediated microangiopathy affecting the brain, retina, and auditory labyrinth. Endothelial injury is thought to be a central mechanism; however, no circulating disease biomarkers are known. We performed targeted proteomic profiling to identify circulating endothelial‐associated proteins as ...

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.
