Analysis of the thickness characteristics of the left atrial posterior wall and its correlation with the low and no voltage areas of the left atrial posterior wall in patients with atrial fibrillation

open access: yesJournal of Cardiothoracic Surgery
Objective To analyze the relationship between the thickness of the left atrial posterior wall and the low and no voltage zones in the left atrial posterior wall in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF).

Wall thickness uniformity of railway hollow shafts by cross-wedge rolling

open access: yes工程科学学报, 2015
Wall thickness uniformity is an important quality criterion of railway hollow shafts by multi-wedge synchrostep cross wedge rolling. The stable rolling condition of railway hollow shafts in this rolling process is analyzed, and a flattening instability ...

THE THICKNESS OF THE WALL OF THE RED BLOOD CORPUSCLE [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of General Physiology, 1935
Fricke's assumption, that the dielectric constant of the erythrocyte wall is 3, is discussed. The assumption is approximately correct in the case of a solid layer of any thickness, and in the case of a liquid layer of not more than bimolecular thickness. For liquid layers of greater thickness the dielectric constant may be several times greater than 3.

Age-Related Concentric Remodeling and Sex-Dependent Dimensional Variation in Left Ventricular Geometry: A Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Study

open access: yesTomography
Background/Objectives: Left ventricular (LV) geometry reflects structural adaptation to aging and biological sex. While cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) provides precise morphologic assessment, most prior studies have focused on volumetric and mass-based

Increased vein wall thickness in Behçet disease

open access: yesJournal of Vascular Surgery: Venous and Lymphatic Disorders, 2019
Lower extremity (LE) deep venous thrombosis (DVT) is the main feature of vascular involvement in Behçet disease (BD). We thought that vein wall thickness (VWT) could be a surrogate marker for venous inflammation and hence predict future vascular involvement.

Stresses in Composite Shafts Subjected to Unbalance Excitation and Transmitted Torque

open access: yesInternational Journal of Rotating Machinery, 2000
In the present study, stress analysis of fiber reinforced thin composite shafts subjected to unbalance excitation and steady torque, is carried out. Shafts of uniform as well as variable wall thickness are considered.

Experimental study on determining the degree of bone healing by wall thickness ratio analysis

open access: yesJournal of Orthopaedic Surgery and Research
To verify the reliability and accuracy of wall thickness ratio analysis to determine the degree of bone healing, fracture models were established with 6 beagles. X-ray, micro-CT, and CT scans were performed at 24 weeks.

Analysis of Damage Mechanism of Ellipsoidal Assembled Tower Joint

open access: yesBuildings
An assembled elliptical joint was designed for a lattice wind turbine tower, and four samples were analyzed under static loads. Additionally, finite element analysis software was employed to create 40 models, with the wall thickness of the ball seat and ...

Thin and thick bubble walls II: expansion in the wall width

open access: yesJournal of Cosmology and Astroparticle Physics
Abstract We study the dynamics of a cosmological bubble wall beyond the approximation of an infinitely thin wall. In a previous paper, we discussed the range of validity of this approximation and estimated the first-order corrections due to the finite width. Here, we introduce a systematic method to obtain the wall equation of motion and
