Tracking Battery Microstructural Degradation Through Directional Thermal Transport Signatures

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In lithium‐ion batteries, heat conduction varies between the through‐plane and in‐plane directions because of the cell's layered structure. Therefore, cell degradation influences thermal conductivity in each direction uniquely due to detailed microstructural and compositional changes.

Kinetics‐Controlled Architecture of Binder‐Free Organic Electrodes for Enhanced Ion Transport

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Pulse reverse electrodeposition controls nucleation and growth to create hierarchically porous Py‐derived oligomeric electrodes with enhanced ionic accessibility and reduced transport resistance. The resulting binder‐free architectures translate these transport advantages into practical sodium‐storage functionality.

Reconstructing Residual‐Solvent‐Involved Li+ Coordination in PVDF‐HFP Polymer Electrolytes for Stable Lithium Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
2,2,2‐trifluoroethanamide‐mediated coordination regulation reconstructs the local Li+ environment in PVDF‐HFP polymer electrolytes by weakening residual DMF‐dominated coordination and promoting TFSI−‐involved anion‐rich solvation. This strategy facilitates Li+ migration and interfacial desolvation, promotes the formation of a thin inorganic‐rich SEI ...

Hierarchical Collagen Nanofiber Gels Recapitulate a Physiologically Relevant Tumor Stromal Microenvironment

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
The collagen nanofiber (CNF) gel supports cancer cell culture, exhibiting cell morphology and cancer‐related protein expression similar to Matrigel. It offers a higher collagen concentration than commercial gels. Additionally, the CNF gel allows replication of the high elasticity of in vivo cancer tissue by controlling collagen fiber sizes, ranging ...
