Warm forging of aluminium alloys: a new approach for time compression of the forging sequence
International Journal of Machine Tools and Manufacture, 2000A new forging sequence, including a warm forging process, is proposed in order to obtain time compression in the production of forgings in heat treatable aluminium alloys. It offers the advantage of eliminating time consuming and expensive heat treatments.

Warm Forging Characteristics of AZ31 Alloy
Advanced Materials Research, 2007Industrial application of magnesium alloys has increased significantly recently. However, wrought magnesium alloys still have a lot of technical challenges to be solved for more applications. First of all, low formability of wrought alloys should be improved by optimizing the processing variables.

Die life and lubrication in warm forging
Journal of Materials Processing Technology, 1997Abstract Since the worm forging enables the processing of high strength parts with a high level of precision, it is possible to eliminate the cutting and grinding of the ball and roller grooves of the outer race of the constant velocity joints. The application of this process has been increasing each year and the size of parts made with the process ...

Warm Forging of a Vanadium Microalloyed Steel
Materials Science Forum, 1998An experimental study of the warm forging applied to a vanadium microalloyed steel has been performed by plane strain compression tests in the 720-870°C range, followed by air cooling and accelerated cooling (4°C/s). The microstructures obtained are ferrite-pearlite-bainite with very fine ferrite grain sizes.

Some applications of cold and warm forging
Journal of Materials Processing Technology, 1992Abstract Over the last few years, cold and warm forming of steel has gained greater importance. This is mainly due to one fact: there is an increasing demand for precision parts with high volumes especially in the automotive industry. Therefore, special manufacturing methods for special parts have been developed with warm and cold forging and with ...

Improving Forgings Formability by Warm Complexing Processes
Solid State Phenomena, 2017Hand-tool is one of the important products which are widely used in manufacturing industry as well as in human life. The torx is one kind of hand-tools which is considered as a case study in this research. There are two trial preforms designed to analyze their influence on forgings formability.

Warm forging of stainless steels
Journal of Mechanical Working Technology, 1982Abstract The warm forging of stainless steels 1 Cr18Ni9Ti, Cr17Ni2, 2Cr13, 4Cr13 and Cr1 2Mn5Ni4Mo3Al has been studied. There are two problems to be overcome in the warm forging of stainless steels: the high resistance of these metals to deformation, and the pronounced tendency for metallic particles to adhere to the tools. The key factors leading to

Investigation of friction in warm forging of AA6082
International Journal of Material Forming, 2008This paper presents an experimental investigation of friction in hot forging of AA6082, which is a standard forging alloy in automotive engineering, mechanical engineering and in naval architecture, by employing a modified ring-on-disc test. The experiments were performed with three different commercial graphite-based lubricants and at various loads ...
