Cutaneous Melanoma Drives Metabolic Changes in the Aged Bone Marrow Immune Microenvironment

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer, increasingly affects older adults. Our study reveals that melanoma induces changes in iron and lipid levels in the bone marrow, impacting immune cell populations and increasing susceptibility to ferroptosis.

Study on viscosity reduction mechanism of warm-mixed rubber modified asphalt: A green sustainable perspective

open access: yesCase Studies in Construction Materials
Owing to the large viscosity and mixing temperature of crumb rubber modified asphalt (CRMA), possesses high construction costs, the addition of warm-mix agent can reduce the viscosity and mixing temperature of CRMA.

Evaluating the Surface Free Energy and Moisture Sensitivity of Warm Mix Asphalt Binders Using Dynamic Contact Angle

open access: yesAdvances in Civil Engineering, 2019
From the environmental conservation perspective, warm mix asphalt is more preferable compared to hot mix asphalt. This is because warm mix asphalt can be produced and paved in the temperature range 20–40°C lower than its equivalent hot mix asphalt.

Laboratory Study on a Warm Bituminous Mixx [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
About 80%of road network in India comprises of flexible pavement in which Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) is used in the bituminous layer. Warm Mix Asphalt (WMA) is helpful in certain situations when the problems associated with HMA may be ...

Evaluation of natural zeolite as warm mix asphalt additive and its comparison with other warm mix additives

open access: yesConstruction and Building Materials, 2013
Abstract In last decade, warm mix asphalt (WMA) has been used as alternative to hot mix asphalt (HMA) that reduces the temperature of asphalt during production and placement, minimizes greenhouse gases while maintaining the advantages of HMA. This study targets the investigation of natural zeolite as a WMA additive and its comparison with different ...

Preferences for post‐traumatic osteoarthritis prevention strategies in individuals with anterior cruciate ligament injury

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objectives There is growing interest in evaluating new strategies to delay or prevent post‐traumatic osteoarthritis (PTOA) in individuals who have sustained anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury. This study sought to determine characteristics of potential treatments that are acceptable to patients with ACL injury.

Hopfield Neural Networks for Online Constrained Parameter Estimation With Time‐Varying Dynamics and Disturbances

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
This paper proposes two projector‐based Hopfield neural network (HNN) estimators for online, constrained parameter estimation under time‐varying data, additive disturbances, and slowly drifting physical parameters. The first is a constraint‐aware HNN that enforces linear equalities and inequalities (via slack neurons) and continuously tracks the ...

Use of emulsion for warm mix asphalt

open access: yesInternational Journal of Transportation Science and Technology, 2017
Due to increase in energy costs and emission problems in hot mix asphalt usually used, it brought a great interest to the researchers to develop the warm mix technology for pavement constructions. Commonly known as warm mix asphalt (WMA), it is a typical

Warm-Mix Asphalt Study: Summary Report on Rubberized Warm-Mix Asphalt Research [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Warm-mix asphalt (WMA) is a relatively new technology. It was developed in response to needs for reduced energy consumption and stack emissions during the production of asphalt concrete, long hauls, lower placement temperatures, improved workability, and better working conditions for plant and paving crews.
