Warm Mix Asphalt

2014
Warm Mix Asphalt (WMA) technologies have potential to reduce the application temperature of Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) and improve workability without compromising the performance of asphalt pavement. This promises various benefits, e.g. a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, decreased energy consumption and costs, improved working conditions, better ...

Moisture susceptibility of Warm-Mix Asphalt

2014
ABSTRACT: Economic, environmental, and engineering benefits led to the rapid implementation of Warm-Mix Asphalt (WMA) during the past decade. While WMA technologies are generally performing well to date, development of standard mix design protocols continues and performance questions remain.

Evaluation of warm mix asphalt containing recycled asphalt shingles

Construction and Building Materials, 2014
Abstract Advances in asphalt materials have led to the incorporation of higher amounts of recycled asphalt materials in mixtures that can be produced at reduced temperatures. Two demonstration projects were constructed to assess the performance of mixtures that use warm mix asphalt (WMA) and recycled asphalt shingles (RAS) at reduced temperatures ...

Research on the Performances of Warm Asphalt and Warm Mix Asphalt with Sasobit

ICCTP 2010, 2010
This paper studied the impact of Sasobit on the performance of asphalt and asphalt mixtures. The normal performance tests on asphalt indicate that when the quantity of Sasobit increases, the penetration index (PI) and the softening point increases; but the penetration and the ductility in the low temperature range reduces.

High temperature characteristics of warm mix asphalt mixtures with nanoclay and chemical warm mix asphalt modified binders

Journal of Cleaner Production, 2016
Abstract With the rising price of energy and the effects of global warming, the demands for the use of warm mix asphalt (WMA) in the construction of pavements have been steadily increasing throughout the world. Due to this, many agencies have been looking forward to implementing WMA technology as a way to promote green culture in every aspect of the ...

Mix design and performance of warm-mix recycled asphalt

Proceedings of the Institution of Civil Engineers - Construction Materials, 2014
During recent decades, several studies have been performed on pavement recycling by using mixing temperatures that are lower than those used in traditional hot asphalt mixtures. Warm-mix recycled asphalt with bitumen emulsion is a new recycling technique that is considered a very promising solution in terms of technical, economic and environmental ...

Characterization of a Warm Mix Asphalt Containing Reclaimed Asphalt Pavements

Airfield and Highway Pavements 2015, 2015
Warm mix asphalt (WMA) technology presents a wide potential to be successfully used in road works construction projects. Although its most salient advantage is to be environmental friendly, it has technical and economic assets. Another widely mentioned advantage of WMA technology is the opportunity to be used in the production of recycled mixtures ...
