Bishop Wydżga’s concerns for Warmia
Bishop Jan Stefan Wydżga was in the government of Warmia during the Polish-Swedish War. Following the end of the war, there was no peace for the episcopal domain. The bishop’s concern was to free Frombork and Braniewo from the Brandenburgian occupation.

AbstractWarmia is a historical region in north-eastern Poland, which – together with the neighbouring region of Mazury – is called the Land of a Thousand Lakes. The conquest of this territory by the Teutonic Order, which took place in the 13th century, gave rise to the foundation of 12 towns in Warmia.
