Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Construction of Strategic Early-Warning System in Cyberspace

open access: yes中国工程科学, 2021
Cyberspace strategic early-warning is a monitoring and warning system that is established by a country or group for early detection, tracking, identification, and notification of incoming major cyber attacks or the spreading destruction of powerful ...

NKCC1: A key regulator of glioblastoma progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioblastoma (GBM) progression is driven by disrupted chloride cotransporter homeostasis. NKCC1 is highly expressed in stem‐like, astrocytic, and progenitor cells, correlating with earlier recurrence, while overall survival remains unaffected. NKCC1 serves as a prognostic marker and potential therapeutic target, linking chloride transporter imbalance ...

A Deep Learning-Integrated Framework for Operational Rip Current Warning

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering
Rip currents pose a serious maritime safety hazard, as they can quickly carry swimmers away from the shore, often leading to drownings caused by panic.

The Safety Monitoring and Warning System for Live Working Based on ToF Technology

open access: yesZhongguo dianli, 2020
Aiming at the deficiency of security monitoring and early warning means and methods for live working in China, a ToF (Time of flight)-based real-time safety monitoring and warning system is proposed for live working.

Longitudinal circulating tumor DNA profiling in patients with advanced endometrial cancer using an off‐the‐shelf targeted NGS panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...

SNEWS: A Neutrino Early Warning System for Galactic SN II [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
The detection of neutrinos from SN1987A confirmed the core-collapse nature of SN II, but the neutrinos were not noticed until after the optical discovery.

The role of lipid metabolism in neuronal senescence

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Disrupted lipid metabolism, through alterations in lipid species or lipid droplet accumulation, can drive neuronal senescence. However, lipid dyshomeostasis can also occur alongside neuronal senescence, further amplifying tissue damage. Delineating how lipid‐induced senescence emerges in neurons and glial cells, and how it contributes to ageing and ...

Drive training assistant system for ambulances to reduce blood pressure variation during deceleration

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2016
This paper proposes the drive training assistant system for ambulance drivers to avoid the excessive blood pressure variation of patients caused by brake operation. The system has two functions.
