Warp Processors

Proceedings of the 41st annual Design Automation Conference, 2004
We describe a new processing architecture, known as a warp processor, that utilizes a field-programmable gate array (FPGA) to improve the speed and energy consumption of a software binary executing on a microprocessor. Unlike previous approaches that also improve software using an FPGA but do so using a special compiler, a warp processor achieves these

WARPED NESTS:

2023
This chapter argues that conservative fears of modernity, including women’s liberation, the sexual revolution, and the dissolution of the patriarchal family home are embodied in the domestic architecture of 1970s American giallo films. Characterized by graphic violence, fragmentation, doubling, and the failure of patriarchal authority, three American ...

Contour-Based Warping

Graphical Models and Image Processing, 1998
Summary: Contour-based warping has been presented. It allows image features to be defined naturally in terms of contours, instead of point-, vector-, or patch-based features in conventional methods. Two methods based on mapping contours, the peel-and-resample and the wave propagation methods, are introduced in this paper.

The Warp machine on Navlab

IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence, 1990
The authors review the history of the Carnegie-Mellon Warp machine on Navlab, an autonomous land vehicle, and describe three Navlab vision systems implemented on the Warp machine. They then critically evaluate components of Warp in light of this experience. The Warp machine was used to implement stereo vision for obstacle avoidance and color-based road-

Frequency warping via warped linear prediction

2011 34th International Conference on Telecommunications and Signal Processing (TSP), 2011
This paper deals with the application of warped linear prediction (WLP) to frequency warping of audio signals. It is an extension of linear predictive coding (LPC) frequency-warping structure which adds frequency warped analysis filter for variable frequency resolution.

Warp

2016
The poems in this collection are situated in the multiple definitions of the verb "warp," which in contemporary usage most often means "to distort," but is also used to describe what happens to space and space-time in the theory of relativity. In addition, the OED entry for the word includes multiple rare and obsolete definitions, such as "to trample ...
