Oblique warped products

open access: yesJournal of Geometry and Physics, 2007
Abstract We define the oblique warped products and prove their existence. In addition to the Levi-Civita connection we use both the Schouten–Van Kampen and Vranceanu connections to study the foliation and curvatures of an oblique warped product. As an application to cosmology we introduce the oblique Robertson–Walker spacetime and give its basic ...

Sustainable Smart Packaging from Protein Nanofibrils

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Smart packaging can extend shelf life and improve food quality monitoring. This study introduces a novel smart packaging solution using amyloid fibrils and red radish anthocyanins to monitor seafood spoilage. These findings show that these films effectively indicate shrimp freshness and possess high antibacterial and antioxidant properties, offering a ...

Warped Product Pseudo-Slant Submanifolds of a Nearly Cosymplectic Manifold

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2012
We study warped product pseudo-slant submanifolds of a nearly cosymplectic manifold. We obtain some characterization results on the existence or nonexistence of warped product pseudo-slant submanifolds of a nearly cosymplectic manifold in terms of the ...

The base of warped product submanifolds of Sasakian space forms characterized by differential equations

open access: yesAdvances in Difference Equations, 2021
In the present paper, we find some characterization theorems. Under certain pinching conditions on the warping function satisfying some differential equation, we show that the base of warped product submanifolds of a Sasakian space form M ˜ 2 m + 1 ( ϵ )

Applications of differential equations to characterize the base of warped product submanifolds of cosymplectic space forms

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2020
In the present, we first obtain Chen–Ricci inequality for C-totally real warped product submanifolds in cosymplectic space forms. Then, we focus on characterizing spheres and Euclidean spaces, by using the Bochner formula and a second-order ordinary ...

A Natural Lignification Inspired Super‐Hard Wood‐Based Composites with Extreme Resilience

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Super‐hard wood‐based composites (WBC) are designed and developed inspired by the mesoscale homogeneous lignification process intrinsic to tree growth. This innovative hybrid structure is achieved by leveraging the infusion of low‐molecular‐weight phenol formaldehyde resin into the cell walls of thin wood slices, followed by a unique multi‐layer ...

Linking uplift, erosion, and sedimentation using landscape evolution models: Madagascar since the Late Cretaceous

open access: yesEarth Surface Processes and Landforms, Volume 48, Issue 1, Page 215-229, January 2023., 2023
This paper uses a numerical landscape evolution model to reconstruct the topographic history of Madagascar since the Late Cretaceous. The model is optimised by balancing the volumes of onshore erosion and offshore sedimentation; the former is predicted with erosion laws and based on uplift history inferred from elevated planation surfaces.

Isometric immersions of warped products

open access: yesDifferential Geometry and its Applications, 1996
AbstractWe derive a decomposition theorem for an isometric immersion f: M → Nκn of a warped product M into the standard n-space Nκn of constant curvature κ and classify all warped product decompositions of the standard spaces.
