The WArP Experiment

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2010
Cryogenic noble liquid detectors are presently considered one of the best options for WIMP Dark Matter searches, especially when extensions to multi ton scale sensitive masses are foreseen. The WArP experiment is the first one that exploits the unique characteristics of liquid Argon to make a highly sensitive search for WIMP Dark Matter candidates.

Dynamics of warped compactifications and the shape of the warped landscape [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 2006
The dynamics of warped/flux compactifications is studied, including warping effects, providing a firmer footing for investigation of the "landscape." We present a general formula for the four-dimensional potential of warped compactifications in terms of ten-dimensional quantities.

Tamed Warping Network for High-Resolution Semantic Video Segmentation

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2023
Recent approaches for fast semantic video segmentation have reduced redundancy by warping feature maps across adjacent frames, greatly speeding up the inference phase. However, the accuracy drops seriously owing to the errors incurred by warping. In this

The calculation of warping spools of warp-knitting machines [PDF]

open access: yesOdes’kyi Politechnichnyi Universytet. Pratsi, 2014
The paper is devoted to the development of scientific bases of the knitting machine design, in particular, to the calculation of warping spools of warp-knitting machines. The method of calculating the operating parameters of warping spools and mode of winding is offered. A formula that is obtained allows to define relationship between the parameters of

Special Standard Static Space-Times [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Essentially, some conditions for the Riemannian factor and the warping function of a standard static space-time are obtained in order to guarantee that no nontrivial warping function on the Riemannian factor can make the standard static space-time ...

Warped Poisson brackets on warped products

open access: yesJournal of Geometric Mechanics, 2014
In this paper, we generalize the geometry of the product pseudo-Riemannian manifold equipped with the product Poisson structure (\cite{Nas2}) to the geometry of a warped product of pseudo-Riemannian manifolds equipped with a warped Poisson structure. We construct three bivector fields on a product manifold and show that each of them lead under certain ...

Fem stability analysis of tapered beam‐columns

open access: yesJournal of Civil Engineering and Management, 2005
This paper deals with a theoretical and a numerical analysis of tapered beam‐columns subjected to a bending moment and an axial force. A standard FEM code COSMOS/M has been used for a numerical estimation of a critical load multiplier.

Warp drive aerodynamics

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2022
Abstract In this work we analyse the potential for a warp drive spacetime to develop instabilities due to the presence of quantum matter. Particularly, we look for points of infinite blueshift (which are analogous to points of a black hole inner horizon, known for its semiclassical instability), and categorise them through the ...
