[Use of the modified Warthin-Starry method in pigmented nevi of the skin].
Medicinski pregled, 1995 Warthin-Starry method is an argyrophilic method, performed at ph 3.2. It is a very efficient method for demonstration of melanin pigment granules in the nevus tissue and in malignant melanoma. We have concluded that it is highly specific for demonstration of melanin pigment granules, and more efficient than the Fontan-Masson method.
