Hopf bifurcation control of the Rössler system based on Washout filter controller

open access: hybridActa Physica Sinica, 2011
The Washout filter is adopted to control Hopf bifurcation in Rössler system. The effect of its parameters on the position of bifurcation point, the bifurcation type, and the amplitude of periodic solution is discussed in detail. Based on Routh criterion, the stability region in parameter space is found out firstly.

Study on chaotic control of Colpitts oscillator based on Washout filter technique

open access: hybridActa Physica Sinica, 2007
Control of chaos in Colpitts oscillator by using Washout filter is studied. Firstly, normalization of the circuit and controlling equations are derived based on Washout filter technique. Then by adjusting the control parameters, chaos in Colpitts oscillator is controlled to stable equilibrium point or periodic state.

Latency on a Stewart platform using washout filter

open access: greenThe Aeronautical Journal, 2018
ABSTRACTThe aim of this work is to investigate and quantify the latency on a Stewart Platform caused exclusively by a Classic washout filter. This washout filter is intended to recreate the sensations of motion caused by changes of translational and rotational acceleration that an aircraft can provide, due to changes in attitudes caused by external ...

Washout filter design for a motorcycle simulator [PDF]

open access: yesSMC 2000 Conference Proceedings. 2000 IEEE International Conference on Systems, Man and Cybernetics. 'Cybernetics Evolving to Systems, Humans, Organizations, and their Complex Interactions' (Cat. No.00CH37166), 2002
Many motion based simulators have been developed for many different types of vehicles. In order to make a simulation more realistic, linear accelerations and angular rates are exerted on the pilot by moving the platform on which the mock-up vehicle is located. This has to be accomplished without driving the simulator out of its work-space. The software

Supplemental Control for System Frequency Support of DFIG-Based Wind Turbines

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
Due to the shortage and environmental pollution of fossil fuel sources, conventional generating units are substituted with renewable energy sources. Thus, the total inertia decreases while the rate of change of frequency (ROCOF) increases, affecting the ...

A Case Study on Vestibular Sensations in Driving Simulators

open access: yesSensors, 2022
Motion platforms have been used in simulators of all types for several decades. Since it is impossible to reproduce the accelerations of a vehicle without limitations through a physically limited system (platform), it is common to use washout filters and

Washout Filters in Feedback Control: Benefits, Limitations and Extensions [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 2004 American Control Conference, 2004
Advantages and limitations of washout filters in feedback control of both continuous-time and discrete-time systems are discussed and generalizations that alleviate the limitations are presented. Some previously unpublished results in the Ph.D. dissertation of one of the authors (Lee, 1991) are presented in the context of their relation to the ...
