The isothermal compression tests of the nickel-based superalloy Waspaloy were carried out under various temperatures from 1040 to 1120 °C and strain rates from 0.01 to 10 s−1 with the height reduction of 60% and the flow stress curves were obtained.

Nickel was systematically substituted for cobalt in Waspaloy. M'echanical test results indicate that lower cobalt has little effect on tensile properties, but adversely affects creep rate and stress rupture life. Phase extraction studies found slight decreases in gamma prime volume fractions and increased M'23C6 carbide with lowes cobalt.

Comparison of Creep Properties of Cast and Wrought Haynes 282 Superalloy
Ni‐based superalloy Haynes 282 was developed as a gas turbine material for use in the ultra‐supercritical (USC) stage of next‐generation coal‐fired power plants. Temperatures in the USC stage exceed 700°C during operation. Despite the important role of Haynes 282 in increasing the performance of high‐pressure turbines, as a result of its high ...

Experimental and numerical analysis of roller burnishing of Waspaloy
Abstract Nickel based superalloys, such as Waspaloy , are extensively used for applications under heavy environmental conditions due to their superior thermo-mechanical properties. However, manufacturing processes of these materials are challenging since they involve issues related to their poor workability.

Microstructure Modeling of Forged Waspaloy Disks
An effort has been undertaken to develop, validate and refine a modeling tool for the prediction of forged Waspaloy microstructures. Previous work on steel materials [l] has shown that microstructural modeling is possible and can be readily accomplished through use of metallurgically-based mathematical equations.
