Detection of sludge disintegration process by dielectric constant measurement [PDF]
Microwave irradiation has a good potential for sludge pre-treatment. Several studies concluded that microwave pre-treatments increase the disintegration degree and biogas production of waste activated sludge.

Biofilm Analysis by Confocal Microscopy—Basics and Practical Aspects
Development and detachment of an interfacial microbial community. The resulting biofilms and bio‐aggregates are three‐dimensional communities susceptible to examination by confocal laser scanning microscopy. ABSTRACT This review is intended as a guideline for beginners in confocal laser scanning microscopy.

Various new block copolymers of TDL and LA were produced through sequential polymerization. Some of them were shown to self‐assemble in nonpolar media such as isododecane, with particle formation. Their biodegradability was evaluated under OECD 301F conditions, and they can be slowly biodegraded only for short PLA blocks.

Rheological study of sludge of membranes bioreactors for water treatment: protocol, limitations and link with the filtration [PDF]
The submerged membranes bio-reactors (sMBR) are more and more visible in the field of waste water treatment. The membrane fouling, that causes a drastic fall of the performances, can be limited by the application of a swarm of bubbles close to the ...
