Supraparticles Composed of Graphitic Carbon Nitride Nanoparticles and Silica‐Supported Horseradish Peroxidase as Customizable Hybrid Catalysts for Photo‐Biocatalytic Cascade Reactions in Continuous Flow

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Herein presented supraparticles combine the nanoparticulate photocatalyst graphitic carbon nitride with the enzyme horseradish peroxidase, which is immobilized on silica nanoparticles. In an optimized compatibility range, both catalysts operate effectively within the hybrid supraparticles and catalyze a cascade reaction consisting of the photocatalytic

Quantitative mapping by remote sensing of an ocean acid-waste dump [PDF]

open access: yes
Results from quantitative analysis show that airplane remotely sensed spectral data can be used to quantify and map an acid-waste dump in terms of its particulate iron concentration. These same data, however, could not be used to map the dump in terms of

From Waste to Value: Conversion of Calcium Sulfate to Vaterite via Carbon Capture and Storage

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces a new concept for carbon management that relies on the carbonation of industrial gypsum waste and yields phase‐pure vaterite at ambient conditions without any additives. The obtained vaterite is further shown to be a reactive material that develops compressive strength in aqueous suspensions like conventional cements.

Identifying high-impact sub-structures for convolution kernels in document-level sentiment classification [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Convolution kernels support the modeling of complex syntactic information in machine-learning tasks. However, such models are highly sensitive to the type and size of syntactic structure used.
