Effect of TPU Type and Concentration on the Rheological, Mechanical, and 3D Printing‐Related Properties of PLA/TPU Blends

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study investigates the effects of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) grades with different hardness levels on the rheological, mechanical, and viscoelastic properties of polylactic acid (PLA) blends for 3D printing applications. Rheological analysis revealed that TPU (A60), a TPU grade with a Shore A hardness of 60, exhibited high ...

Alternating Current Electrospinning: A Novel and Efficient Fabrication Method for Curcumin‐Loaded Polylactic Acid Nanofibers Compared to Direct Current Electrospinning

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.
This study compares novel needleless alternating current electrospinning and traditional direct current electrospinning under identical conditions. Polylactic acid nanofibers were fabricated with curcumin loadings of 0%, 10%, 25%, and 50% wt. AC electrospinning exhibited higher productivity (11.2 ± 0.6 g/h) than DC (5.2 ± 1.1 g/h).

Review of the anatomical basis for predicting plutonium alpha particle radiation induced osteogenic cancers

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Plutonium was discovered and first synthesized in the early 1940's. Several isotopes of plutonium are used in nuclear technologies, 238Pu for heat generation and 239Pu for energy production and weapons. Both isotopes emit alpha particles, which pose a significant radiation hazard when incorporated into the body.
