Recycling of waste granite and glass powder for the preparation of architectural glass-ceramic

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology
A high-strength glass-ceramic was synthesised utilising industrial solid waste, specifically waste granite and glass powder, as the primary raw materials. This study examined the influence of various factors, including the content of waste granite powder,

Enhanced Photocatalytic Wastewater Purification and Bacterial Elimination via Copper Ion Irradiation‐Induced Modification of BiOCl

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents a copper ion irradiation method to achieve the modification function of BiOCl. By using high‐energy ion beams to introduce impurity ions inside the material, the intrinsic electric field of BiOCl is optimized, promoting the separation of photogenerated carriers and enhancing the photocatalytic activity.

Enhanced Energy Transfer from a Metal–Organic Framework to a Highly Confined Organic Phosphorescent Dye

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A phosphorescent dye was designed to fit in a hand‐to‐glove fashion into the 1D‐pore channels of MIL‐68(In). We synthesized MIL‐68(In) as powder and thin films, loaded the dye into the pores with controlled packing, and found that the phosphorescence and quantum yield are enhanced.

Glass foams from cathode-ray tubes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) waste glasses produced from dismantling TV sets were used to prepare glass foams by a simple and economic processing route, consisting of a direct sintering process of mixtures of waste glass powder (CRT) with a foaming agent (fly ...

Artificial Piezoelectric Interface Enables Ultrafast Interfacial Ion Kinetic for Highly‐Sensitive Piezoionic Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study proposes a piezoelectric interface modification strategy to amplify the piezoionic effect. The piezoelectric interface generates an intrinsic electric field, which not only drives rapid ion migration but also concentrates polarized ions on the interface. The flexible sensor delivers superior performance, such as a quick response rate, strong
