Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Printed Integrated Logic Circuits Based on Chitosan‐Gated Organic Transistors for Future Edible Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Edible electronics needs integrated logic circuits for computation and control. This work presents a potentially edible printed chitosan‐gated transistor with a design optimized for integration in circuits. Its implementation in integrated logic gates and circuits operating at low voltage (0.7 V) is demonstrated, as well as the compatibility with an ...

Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.

Sustainable Valorization of Framiré Sawdust: Extraction of Secondary Metabolites and Conversion of Residues into Fuel Briquettes

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Faced with the depletion of fossil resources and the need to promote a circular economy, lignocellulosic biomass represents a solution for energy transition and bioeconomy. However, wood sawdust, which contains bioactive compounds (secondary metabolites),

Biomass Native Structure Into Functional Carbon‐Based Catalysts for Fenton‐Like Reactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study indicates that eight biomasses with 2D flaky and 1D acicular structures influence surface O types, morphology, defects, N doping, sp2 C, and Co nanoparticles loading in three series of carbon, N‐doped carbon, and cobalt/graphitic carbon. This work identifies how these structural factors impact catalytic pathways, enhancing selective electron

Fly ash based shape-stabilized phase change materials for high-temperature thermal energy storage with enhanced thermal conductivity

open access: yesCase Studies in Thermal Engineering
Molten salt phase change material(PCM) has great potential as a substitute for thermal energy storage, however, their widespread industrial adoption has been limited by issues of leakage.

Composites of Shellac and Silver Nanowires as Flexible, Biobased, and Corrosion‐Resistant Transparent Conductive Electrodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Shellac, a centuries‐old natural resin, is reimagined as a green material for flexible electronics. When combined with silver nanowires, shellac films deliver transparency, conductivity, and stability against humidity. These results position shellac as a sustainable alternative to synthetic polymers for transparent conductors in next‐generation ...

Cationic Polymer Micelles as Carriers of Bioactive Sesquiterpene Lactones from Inula Helenium L. for Effective Treatment of Bacterial Biofilms

open access: yesPharmaceutics
Objectives: Nanosized polymeric micelles (PMs) with an average size of about 80 nm and moderately positive ζ potential, based on an amphiphilic poly(4-methyl-piperazin-1-yl)-propenone)-b-polylactide (PMPP-PLA) block copolymer, were prepared.
