From Lab to Landscape: Environmental Biohybrid Robotics for Ecological Futures
This Perspective explores environmental biohybrid robotics, integrating living tissues, microorganisms, and insects for operation in real‐world ecosystems. It traces the leap from laboratory experiments to forests, wetlands, and urban environments and discusses key challenges, development pathways, and opportunities for ecological monitoring and ...

In a lumbar spine instability model, dorsal root ganglion cells mediate the perception of relevant mechanical stresses through Piezo2 and subsequently release CGRP. CGRP activates the NF‐κB signaling pathway in cartilage endplate cells through the receptor RAMP1.

A Plug‐and‐Play Volume Minimizing Micromixer
ABSTRACT Microscale fluid mixing has numerous applications where rapid and efficient mixing is required, including drug discovery, bio‐analysis and point‐of‐care diagnostics. Conventional soft lithography processes, however, make the integration of robust and reliable mixing difficult to implement in practice, especially across different flow rates ...

We present a dual‐organ, biomarker‐integrated ovaryendometrium organ‐on‐a‐chip that recapitulates 3D tissue complexity, menstrual cycle dynamics, and hormonal crosstalk. This platform enables real‐time, cell‐typespecific fluorescent readouts of reproductive toxicity using ANGPTL4 and SERPINB2 as early‐response reporters.

A Perspective on the Applications of Triphasic Gas Storage in Electrochemical Systems
Gas storage in microporous materials positioned locally at an electrode or electrocatalyst surface enhances electrochemical processes. Abstract Microporous materials store gases under dry conditions (e.g., hydrogen or oxygen via physisorption), but in some cases microporous materials also show triphasic (e.g., in a solid|gas|liquid system) gas storage ...

Waste Treatment Integration in Space
Waste Management & Research: The Journal for a Sustainable Circular Economy, 1991The circumstances and criteria for space-based waste treatment bioregenerative life-support systems differ in many ways from those needed in terrestrial applications. In fact, the term "waste" may not even be appropriate in the context of nearly closed, cycling, ecosystems such as those under consideration. Because of these constraints there is a need

Microbial Waste Water Waste Treatment
1991Publisher Summary This chapter outlines the microbial waste water and waste treatment, and describes the actual trends of environmental biotechnologies. A common feature of the majority of the treatment processes is that the substrate is a non-specified organic matter.
