Investigating the Structure–Function Relationships of Fluorinated Interfaces for PFAS Capture and Electrochemically‐Mediated Release

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study explores the use of fluorinated copolymers with varying fluorophilic side chain lengths to enhance PFAS affinity. The integration of electrochemical techniques demonstrates enhanced adsorbent regeneration, with molecular dynamics simulations providing insight into the molecular‐level interactions involved.

Photodegradation of diclofenac in wastewaters

open access: yesDESALINATION AND WATER TREATMENT, 2017
A major environmental concern has recently developed due to emerging pollutants (EC) that are nowadays being detected in the effluents of municipal and industrial wastewater treatment plants (WWTP) at very low concentrations, thanks to improved analytical techniques. Pharmaceutical compounds (PhACs) are some of the most hazardous EC.

Matrix Tropism Influences Endometriotic Cell Attachment Patterns

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The influence of substrate stiffness and multicellular coculture on endometriotic cell attachment to extracellular matrix‐laden microarrayed islands is reported. This model investigates early endometriotic cell attachment, aiming to capture “lesion initiation events”.

Wastewater Treatment Works (WwTW) as a Source of Microplastics in the Aquatic Environment.

open access: yesEnvironmental Science and Technology, 2016
Municipal effluent discharged from wastewater treatment works (WwTW) is suspected to be a significant contributor of microplastics (MP) to the environment as many personal care products contain plastic microbeads.

Microalgae and wastewater treatment

open access: yesSaudi Journal of Biological Sciences, 2012
Organic and inorganic substances which were released into the environment as a result of domestic, agricultural and industrial water activities lead to organic and inorganic pollution. The normal primary and secondary treatment processes of these wastewaters have been introduced in a growing number of places, in order to eliminate the easily settled ...
