Examining Metal Additives in a Marine Hybrid-Propellant, Water-Breathing Ramjet [PDF]
This research focuses on theoretically and experimentally evaluating the performance of a metallized hybrid-propellant, water-breathing ramjet. The aluminum and/or magnesium particles added to a polymeric (polyester) fuel grain are hydro-reactive, using ...

Dynamic Testing of a Hybrid-Propellant Water-Breathing Ram Rocket in Underwater Cruise Conditions
High-speed submerged marine vehicles, such as torpedoes, traveling at velocities of an order of 100 m/s and above, require powerful propulsion to overcome the tremendous hydrodynamic drag.

Historical and current usage of per‐ and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS): A literature review
Abstract Background Per‐ and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) have uniquely useful chemical and physical properties, leading to their extensive industrial, commercial, and consumer applications since at least the 1950s. Some industries have publicly reported at least some degree of information regarding their PFAS use, while other industries have ...

The air‐breathing engines, commonly known as Supersonic Combustor Ramjet (SCRAMJET) engines, are one of the most prominent technologies among researchers due to their high thrust‐to‐weight ratio. The researchers are constantly making efforts for improved performance of the combustor under the required boundary conditions.

Theoretical Performance Evaluation of a Marine Solid Propellant Water-Breathing Ramjet Propulsor [PDF]
This work analyzes and presents theoretical performance of a marine water-breathing ramjet propulsor. A conceptual scheme of the motor is shown, the equation of thrust is presented, and the dependence on cruise velocity and depth are discussed. Different propellant compositions, representing a wide variety of formulations suitable for propelling a ...

The Impact on the Ozone Layer of a Potential Fleet of Civil Hypersonic Aircraft
Abstract The aeronautical community is currently researching technology that might lead to commercial hypersonic aircraft that would cruise at Mach 5–8 in the middle or upper stratosphere and would transfer passengers from London to New York or from Los Angeles to Tokyo in just a couple of hours.

Exergy Analysis in Hydrogen‐Air Detonation
The main goal of this paper is to analyze the exergy losses during the shock and rarefaction wave of hydrogen‐air mixture. First, detonation parameters (pressure, temperature, density, and species mass fraction) are calculated for three cases where the hydrogen mass fraction in air is 1.5%, 2.5%, and 5%.
