Abstract The calculation of the height of fractured water-conducting zone (FWCZ) is of great significance for mine optimization design, water disaster prevention and safety production of the coal mines. In this paper, a height-prediction model of FWCZ based on extreme learning machine (ELM) is proposed.

In Situ Micromechanical Study of Bimodal γ′–γ″ Precipitate Assemblies in Ni–Cr–Al–Nb Superalloy
A Ni–Cr–Al–Nb superalloy with a bimodal γ′–γ″ precipitate distribution is developed. Composite precipitate assemblies form through heterogeneous nucleation, effectively impeding dislocation motion. Micropillar compression reveals high strength at room and elevated temperatures, governed by precipitate shearing, with coupled faulting mechanisms ...

Characterisation of the 2D and 3D density and connectivity attributes of fracture systems in carbonate reservoir analogues: implications for fluid flow [PDF]
Fault zones, hosted in fractured carbonate reservoirs, can behave as either high porosity and permeability conduits, favoring the migration of fluids; or, conversely, as low porosity and permeability barriers, retarding fluid flow, due to the presence of

Scandium (Sc)‐doped AlCoCrFeMo HEA coatings are fabricated via flame spraying with 0.1, 0.3, and 0.5 wt% Sc additions. Among these, the HEA‐Sc0.3 coating exhibits the highest corrosion resistance, indicated by a more positive corrosion potential and lower current density.

Risk Identification Method and Application of Roof Water Inrush Under Multi-Working Face Mining
Adjacent, multi-working face mining can expand the range of disturbed overburden, increasing the risk of triggering roof water inrush, which threatens the safe operation of coal mines. In this paper, we propose a risk identification method for roof water

Nondestructive Testing of Welded Composite Metal Foams
X‐ray computed tomography (CT) is used to evaluate welded steel–steel composite metal foam (CMF) joints of two density classes. It reports variation in postweld spatial void distribution and correlates it to weld‐induced changes, mechanical performance, and failure within welded CMF panels.

Aluminum and nitride coatings are used in industry because they are hard, resist wear, and protect against oxidation. Adding boron can improve friction behavior and other properties. This study tests coatings on surfaces with different finishes. Results show smoother surfaces perform better, while rough ones wear faster, although coatings can reduce ...

Study on the “Two-Zone” Heights in Lower Slice Mining Under Thick Alluvium and Thin Bedrock
The extraction of thin bedrock coal seams with thick alluvium poses a challenging issue in the realm of coal safety production in China. Especially for mining under aquifers, knowing the development height of water-conducting fracture zones above the ...
