Refining the timing of Middle Pleistocene (MIS 12 to MIS 6) ice advances into northern central Europe: sedimentological analysis and single‐grain luminescence dating of glaciotectonic complexes and tunnel‐valley fills

open access: yesBoreas, EarlyView.
We summarize the current state of knowledge on the age of the Middle Pleistocene ice advances into northern central Europe and provide 25 new single‐grain feldspar luminescence ages of Elsterian and Saalian glacigenic sediments to constrain the age of the ice advances and their tentative correlation with marine isotope stages/substages.

Bruton tyrosine kinase (Btk) in neutrophils is indispensable for initiating and maintaining skin inflammation in a model of pemphigoid diseases

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Background and Purpose Bruton tyrosine kinase (Btk) is essential for B cell function. Its role in myeloid cells is less understood. Greater insights into Btk significance in myeloid cells are needed to evaluate its potential as a therapeutic target during the effector phase of antibody‐induced autoimmune diseases, where inhibiting autoantibody ...

Finite elements and the method of characteristics applied to water hammer modelling

open access: yesInternational Journal for Engineering Modelling, 1995
The paper deals with the problems related to water hammer modelling in hydraulic networks. Although the existing models, based on the finite element method and weak formulations of the problems, have certain advantages, they also have certain drawbacks, particularly when dealing with real hydraulic systems.

Distribution, scale, and drivers of mass mortality events in Europe's freshwater bivalves

open access: yesConservation Biology, EarlyView.
Abstract Mass mortality events (MMEs) are decimating populations and compromising key ecosystem functions around the globe. One taxon particularly vulnerable to MMEs is freshwater bivalve mollusks. This group has important ecosystem engineering capacities and includes highly threatened and highly invasive taxa.

Plant Domestication Affects the Oviposition Behavior and Performance of Ganaspis kimorum, a Parasitoid of Drosophila suzukii

open access: yesEntomologia Experimentalis et Applicata, EarlyView.
In this study, we investigated the effects of blueberry domestication on the oviposition behavior and performance of Ganaspis kimorum, a parasitoid of Drosophila suzukii. Domestication of blueberries reduced the oviposition‐searching behavior of the parasitoid but enhanced parasitoid performance, including offspring performance. Additionally, blueberry
