Separation of yttrium from strontium in the aqueous phase of the water/nitrobenzene system

Journal of Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistry, 2002
A rapid separation of carrier-free 90Y in the aqueous phase of the water/nitrobenzene extraction system from an 90Y/90Sr generator is proposed. After a three-stage extraction, the chemical yield of 90Y in the final aqueous phase was almost 90%, while the 90Sr radionuclide impurity in this phase containing carrier-free 90Y was about 10–10%.

Separation of microamounts of yttrium from strontium in the two‐phase water/nitrobenzene system

Journal of Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistry, 2002
A rapid and very effective separation of carrier‐free 90 Y in the aqueous phase of the water/nitrobenzene system from an 90 Y/90 Sr generator is proposed. After a two‐stage extraction separation, the radionuclide impurity of 90 Sr in the final aqueous phase containing carrier‐free 90 Y is approximately 10 ‐16%, while the chemical yield of 90 Y in this ...

Towards selective separations of monovalent cations by solvent extraction of their calix[4]crown complexes in water-nitrobenzene systems

Journal of Molecular Liquids, 2021
Abstract The stability constants of the cationic complexes ML+, where M+= Li+, Na+, H3O+, Ag+, K+, NH4+, Tl+, Rb+, Cs+; and L = calix[4]crown ethers in nitrobenzene saturated with water were determined on the basis of the experimental distribution ratios of these cations.

Separation of microamounts of strontium from calcium in the two-phase water-nitrobenzene extraction system

Journal of Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistry, 2005
A rapid separation of Sr2+from Ca2+using HCl, 15-crown-5 (15C5) and hydrogen dicarbollylcobaltate (H+B-) in the two-phase water-nitrobenzene extraction system was developed.

Individual extraction constants of some divalent metal cations in the two-phase water–nitrobenzene system

Journal of Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistry, 2010
From extraction experiments and c-activity measurements, the exchange extraction constants corresponding to the general equilibrium M(aq) ? Sr(nb) ¢ M(nb) ? Sr(aq) taking part in the two-phase water– nitrobenzene system (M = Mg, Ca, Ba, Cu, Zn, Cd, Pb, UO2þ 2 , Mn , Fe, Co, Ni; aq = aqueous phase, nb = nitrobenzene phase) were evaluated.

Separation of yttrium from strontium in the aqueous phase of the water/nitrobenzene extraction system

Journal of Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistry, 2003
A rapid separation for carrier-free 90Y in the aqueous phase of the water/nitrobenzene extraction system from an 90Y/90Sr generator was proposed. After two-stage extraction separation, chemical yield of 90Y in the final aqueous phase was roughly 80%, while 90Sr radionuclide impurity in this phase containing carrier-free 90Y was 10-6%.

Direct Observation of Dynamic Molecular Behavior at a Water/Nitrobenzene Interface in a Chemical Oscillation System

The Journal of Physical Chemistry B, 2002
Nonlinear behavior of ionic surfactant (SDS) molecules at a water/nitrobenzene (W/NB) interface in a chemical oscillation system was investigated by monitoring interfacial tension (Δγ) using time-resolved quasi-elastic laser scattering (QELS). Simultaneous measurement of electrical potential (ΔV) allowed extraction and discussion of the time course of ...

Facilitated ion transfer across the water/nitrobenzene interface Theory for single-scan voltammetry applied to a reversible system

Journal of Electroanalytical Chemistry and Interfacial Electrochemistry, 1982
The transfer of the metal cation across the interface between two immiscible electrolyte solutions facilitated by complex formation with a ligand at the interface was investigated both theoretically and experimentally. The theory of single-scan voltammetry was derived which enables the complex stoichiometry (1:1, 1:2 or 1:3.

Mathematical modeling of separation of microamounts of strontium from yttrium in the two-phase water-nitrobenzene extraction system

Journal of Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistry, 2007
A rapid extraction separation of microamounts of Sr2+ from Y3+ using HCl, benzo-15-crown-5 (B15C5) and hydrogen dicarbollylcobaltate (H+B-) in the two-phase water-nitrobenzene system was developed. The reached separation factor α(Sr/Y) was higher than 105.

Extraction Distribution of 2-Nitroso-1-Naphthol in the Two-Phase Water-Nitrobenzene System

Zeitschrift für Physikalische Chemie, 2005
Abstract General relations among the thermodynamic parameters, which characterize dissociation equilibria of an acid HA in both phases of a two-phase extraction system and ion transfers across the interface of this system, was formulated.
