Proximity Engineering of Fe‒N4 Twins for Oriented Generation of Singlet Oxygen for Hospital Wastewater Treatment

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Precise modulation of Fe–N4 site distances constructs spin‐regulated Fe–N4 twins, triggering a volcano‐type Fenton‐like activity and promoting oriented singlet oxygen generation. The twin‐site catalyst enables highly selective and efficient hospital wastewater purification with simultaneous pharmaceutical degradation and disinfection under low ...

Identification and Quantification of Explosives in Nanolitre Solution Volumes by Raman Spectroscopy in Suspended Core Optical Fibers

open access: yesSensors, 2013
A novel approach for identifying explosive species is reported, using Raman spectroscopy in suspended core optical fibers. Numerical simulations are presented that predict the strength of the observed signal as a function of fiber geometry, with the ...

Degradação de espécies nitroaromáticas e remediação de efluentes da indústria de explosivos, utilizando-se processos redutivos-oxidativos fundamentados no uso de ferro metálico Degradation of nitroaromatic compounds and remediation of residues from the explosive production by reductive-oxidative processes based on zero-valent iron

open access: yesQuímica Nova, 2009
In this work the potentiality of reductive-oxidative processes based on zero-valent iron was studied aiming the degradation of nitroaromatic compounds and the remediation of residues from the explosive industry.

Metal-Organic Framework/Organocatalyst Combinations as Powerful Multicatalytic Systems for Aerobic Oxidations. [PDF]

open access: yesAngew Chem Int Ed Engl
A multicatalytic strategy based on the simple combination of metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) and organocatalysts is able to mediate challenging aerobic oxidation reactions. The use of earth‐abundant MOFs and commercially available (hydro)quinone co‐catalysts greatly simplify the generation of powerful multicatalytic systems, opening the door for the ...

Direct Observation of Chemical Oscillation at a Water/Nitrobenzene Interface with a Sodium-alkyl-sulfate System

open access: yesAnalytical Sciences, 2004
The oscillation of the interfacial tension and electrical potential at a water/nitrobenzene interface was observed with homologous anionic surfactant molecules, sodium-alkyl-sulfates. Concerning small molecules with a short hydrophobic carbon chain, the oscillation period and amplitude decreased with a decrease of the length of the alkyl chain.

Surface‐State–Regulated Product Distribution in Photothermal CO2 Hydrogenation Over MXene‐Based S‐Scheme Catalyst

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
This work establishes an MXene‐based S‐scheme heterojunction in which the cooperative interplay among metallic Ni, surface NiOx domains, and conductive Ti3C2Clx drives efficient charge separation and photothermal coupling. Progressive evolution of Ni surface states regulates the CH4/CH3OH product distribution by modulating interfacial energetics and ...
