Herein, we propose a solar‐powered heavy metal trap (SPHT) for sludge disposal. The indoor experiments demonstrated that the sludge water content decreased from 90 % to 31 %, coupled with a decrease in heavy metal content to 6 % at most. Furthermore, the designed SPHT generated an initial potential of 0.10 V, and monitoring this hydrovoltaic potential ...

Nepenthes pitcher plant inspired bio-polymer embedded porous surfaces for oil aquaplaning
The Nepenthes pitcher plant has inspired surfaces employing a liquid barrier that shields the surface from contaminants. However, such liquid-infused oil-repellent surfaces employ toxic fluorocarbons or unstable polar liquids.

This work constructed a tandem W−N−C center to simultaneously achieve the regulation of reaction pathways and optimization of charge separation efficiency. The Lewis‐acidic W6+ sites activated O2 to generate O2−$O_2^ - $, with enhanced charge separation via electronic modulation, steering U(VI) reduction down an efficient radical pathway.

Precursor stoichiometry programs the surface chemistry of carbon dots, directing their self‐assembly into distinct aggregation modes. Aldehyde‐enriched surfaces form ordered, hydrogen‐bonded assemblies that enable bright red solid‐state fluorescence, whereas amine‐rich surfaces promote compact π–π stacked aggregates with broadband visible‐light ...
