A DODTA–TPB-Based Potentiometric Sensor for Anionic Surfactants: A Computational Design and Environmental Application

open access: yesChemosensors
Surfactants are used in various washing applications with potential negative environmental and health impacts. The ion-pair 1,3-dioctadecyl-1H-1,2,3-triazol-3-ium-tetraphenylborate (DODTA–TPB) was used to fabricate the potentiometric sensor for the ...

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Size- and Concentration-Resolved Detection of PET Microplastics in Real Water via Excitation–Emission Matrix Fluorescence Quenching of Polyamide-Derived Carbon Quantum Dots

open access: yesSensors
The selective detection of microplastics (MPs) in aquatic environments is hindered by particle size diversity and matrix-induced interferences. This study reports an excitation–emission matrix (EEM) fluorescence sensing platform using polyamide-derived ...

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Enhanced anodic stripping determination of Cd(II) using NH2-functionalized MOF and GO-modified glassy carbon electrode

open access: yesJournal of Electrochemical Science and Engineering
In this work, an amino-functionalized metal-organic framework (NH2-functionalized MIL-101(Fe) MOF) and graphene oxide (GO) were employed to modify a glassy carbon electrode (GCE) to prepare a simple and sensitive electrochemical sensing platform for ...

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Preconcentration method for trace metals in natural waters using 4-morpholine dithiocarbamate [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Serbian Chemical Society, 2002
The optimum conditions were found for the preconcentration of trace metals in natural waters and model samples with standard metals concentrations by using 4-morpholinedithiocarbamate. The formed complexes were extracted with chloroform.
