The impact of water conservation regulations on mining firms: A stochastic control approach
Water Resources and Economics, 2021Abstract Large water demands by the mining industry are of increasing concern around the world. The cost of a specific water management regulation is studied for an oil sands mining operation in Canada, where restrictions on water withdrawals vary with fluctuations in the river.

WATER USE AND WATER CONSERVATION BY THE COPPER MINING INDUSTRY1
JAWRA Journal of the American Water Resources Association, 1981ABSTRACT: This paper examines the use of water by copper mines for treating low grade ores. The froth flotation process for treating sulphide ore and the heap leaching process for treating oxide ore are described, and ways of reducing the amount of water used in these processes are discussed. Estimates of the costs reducing water consumption are given.

Key Protecting Strata Criterion of Water Conservation Mining and its Application
Advanced Materials Research, 2013The entironment is deteriorating increasingly in north of Shaanxi Yushenfu mine with coal mining cosmically. The causation is the lapse of groundwater owing to mining. Water conservation mining has been the exigent request. Aiming at the need of water conversation mining in north of Shaanxi shallow seam mine, this article found key protecting strata ...

Abstract Effluent from Europe's largest active gold mine is discharged to the adjacent River Seurujoki via natural treatment wetlands in Lapland Finland. Site waters, including two sources of mine effluent, treatment wetland surface water and Seurujoki river water were chemically and isotopically characterized.
