Experimental study on mechanical properties and microscopic mechanisms of layered sandstone after high temperature water cooling

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science
During underground resource extraction and deep underground engineering development, the engineering rock body frequently encounters elevated temperatures and water cooling, leading to alterations in the mechanical properties of the rock.

Development of explosion-proof permanent magnet synchronous motor with variable-frequency drive integratio

open access: yesGong-kuang zidonghua, 2017
Domestic scraper conveyor has big rotary inertie and starting torque, which makes starting of its driving moter difficult, so the ordinary asynchronous motors can't fulfill the task.

Can Ti‐Based MXenes Serve as Solid Lubricants for Brake Applications? A Tribological Study

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study explores the first implementation of Ti‐based MXenes materials in brake pad friction composite material. The resulting composite material exhibits a 48% reduction in the wear rate; alongside significant improvements are observed for thermal and mechanical properties.

Interaction between Molten Al‐Killed Mn–B Steel and Carbon‐Bonded MgO Refractories Based on Recyclates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
High‐temperature interactions between low‐sulfur Al‐killed Mn–B steel and MgO–C refractories (0 and 50 wt% recyclates) are studied via finger immersion tests (1600 °C). Surface‐active elements influence infiltration. MgO/CaS layer forms, along with spinel and calcium silicate.

Study for the Reconfiguration of Cooling Water Networks in Retrofit Scenarios

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2015
Conventional cooling water systems are typically based on once-though usage of cooling water for each cooler. Cooling water between coolers can be re-used, which allows reducing overall cooling water flowrate at the increased cooling water return ...
