Alternating High‐Fat and Polysaccharide Diets Modulates Gut Phage‐Bacterial Interplay

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals how alternating high‐fat and polysaccharide diets reshape the human gut virome and enhance phage‐bacteria interactions. Using large‐scale metagenomic meta‐analysis and a time‐resolved mouse model, the authors show that diets strongly modulate phage abundance, lifestyle, and gene exchange, offering new insights into nutrition‐guided ...

Application of water deficit stress at wheat heading stage

open access: yes, 2018
Due to the worldwide climate changes, drought became common abiotic stress factor endangering plant growth and development thereby affecting wheat quality and yield. In this study three winter wheat genotypes (Katarina, Antonija, Žitarka) were tested for drought tolerance during the heading stage by exposing the plants to drought conditions for 10 days,

Regulation of ethylene biosynthesis in Festuca novae-zelandiae (Hack.) Cockayne and in Festuca aruninaceae (Schreb.) in response to a water deficit : a thesis presented in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Science in Plant Biology at Massey University, Palmerston North, New Zealand [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Changes in ethylene evolution and the associated biosynthetic enzyme ACC oxidase to a water deficit, were examined in intact leaves of Fostuca novae-zelandiae and F. arundinacea cultivar 'Roa' (syn. Schedonorus phoenix).

Proteomic dataset of sorghum leaf and root responses to single and combined drought and heat stress

open access: yesScientific Data
Drought and heat stress significantly limit crop growth and productivity. Their simultaneous occurrence, as often observed in summer crops, leads to larger yield losses. Sorghum is well adapted to dry and hot conditions.

4‐Hydroxybenzyl Alcohol Mitigates Hyperlipidemia‐Associated Depression by Inhibiting Neuroinflammation via the NKIRAS2/NF‐κB Pathway

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
4‐HBA upregulates NKIRAS2 levels, inhibiting the activation of the NF‐κB pathway and subsequently reducing the levels of neuroinflammatory markers. This modulation helps restore normal mood and behavior in hyperlipidemic conditions, providing a potential therapeutic strategy for managing hyperlipidemia‐associated depression.

Tetrastigma Hemsleyanum Polysaccharide Suppresses Triple‐Negative Breast Cancer by Disrupting the Hippo‐YAP/TEAD4‐PDIA4 Axis and Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress Adaptation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Triple‐negative breast cancer (TNBC) exhibits addiction to chronic endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress, which sustains an aggressive metastatic phenotype through activation of the unfolded protein response (UPR). Here, we identify a previously unrecognized “ER‐stress addiction” axis in which the Hippo pathway effector TEAD4 directly ...

Biomimetic Ru‐Mn Nanozyme with Cascade Catalytic Activity Attenuates Secondary Brain Injury in Intracerebral Hemorrhage

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Ru–Mn composite nanozymes are engineered to mimic dual‐enzyme cascade catalysis, enabling efficient ROS clearance and neuroinflammation suppression. In collagenase‐ and autologous blood‐induced ICH mouse models, intranasal and intravenous administration reduced hematoma volume, preserved BBB integrity, and improved neurological recovery.
