An Inversion Method of Remote Sensing Water Depth Based on Transmission Bands Ratio

2011 Fourth International Joint Conference on Computational Sciences and Optimization, 2011
The water depth inversion of shallow reefs plays an important role for marine safety, marine engineering and marine military. The IKONOS satellite remote sensing image and the chart water depth data are analyzed and processed in this paper and a new neural network model is established by transmission bands ratio.

Depth inversion in coastal water based on SAR image of waves

Chinese Journal of Oceanology and Limnology, 2008
Wave-number spectrum technique is proposed to retrieve coastal water depths by means of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) image of waves. Based on the general dispersion relation of ocean waves, the wavelength changes of a surface wave over varying water depths can be derived from SAR.

Improvement of Snow Depth Inversion Derived From Terrain Tilt Correction and Multi-GNSS Measurements Using the Helmert Variance Component Estimation

IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 2023
As an essential part of the global water cycle, the effective detection of snow depth is of great significance to the study of climate change. Global navigation satellite system interferometric reflectometry (GNSS-IR) technology emerged as a new ground ...

SVP Inversion for Weakening Multibeam Bathymetry Errors by Constraint of Check Line Depth

IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 2023
Sound velocity errors often lead to distortion of seafloor topography in multibeam bathymetric data processing. The current method of sound velocity profile (SVP) inversion has the problems of small application scope of the inversed equivalent SVP (ESVP)

THE OPTIMUM SOURCE DEPTH DISTRIBUTION FOR REVERBERATION INVERSION IN A SHALLOW-WATER WAVEGUIDE

Theoretical and Computational Acoustics 2005, 2006
An approach for extracting the modal backscattering matrix from reverberation data in shallow water was proposed recently (Shang, Gao, and Tang, 2002). The kernel matrix of the inversion is constructed using the square of the modal functions. The singularity of this matrix (or the stability of the inversion) is the crucial issue to be considered.

Inversion of Deep-Water Velocity Using the Munk Formula and the Seabed Reflection Traveltime: An Inversion Scheme That Takes the Complex Seabed Topography Into Account

IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 2023
The sound speed of seawater is not constant. It varies with season, daytime, depth, and range. This variation was not considered in marine seismic data processing and imaging before deep-water seismic acquisition became a routine activity.
