Comparative Analysis of the Semi-Empirical Physical Models for Shallow Water Depth Inversion in Beibu Gulf

2021 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium IGARSS, 2021
In the research and development of the coastal ocean, the data of coastal water depth is very important. At present, the development of multispectral satellite water depth measurement is very rapid. In the actual water depth inversion, single-band method, double band method (ratio logarithm method), and multi-band method which are belonging to lyzenga ...

Basin-Scale Deep-Water Exploration Offshore Mozambique: Reducing Risk through Depth Imaging with Full Waveform Inversion

82nd EAGE Annual Conference & Exhibition - Workshop Programme, 2021
SummaryRecent East African offshore exploration activity has focused on northern Mozambique and southern Tanzania, driven by major gas discoveries in the Rovuma Basin. There is now renewed interest in petroleum exploration further south towards the Angoche Basin.

An inversion method to estimate the winter wheat water content based on vegetation optical depth

2014 IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2014
In this study, winter wheat water content was retrieved using a parameterized relationship between the winter wheat water content and its structure parameters, i.e. radius, length and thickness of the leaves. The parameterized relationship was constructed from a large quantity of simulated attenuation cross section (Q e ) of the winter wheat leaves ...

Full Waveform Inversion Using Broadband Variable-depth Streamer Data in Deep Water West Africa

Proceedings, 2014
Full waveform inversion (FWI) produces high-resolution velocity models through an iterative inversion scheme that minimizes the difference between real and modeled data. Due to the limitations of current FWI algorithms, clean, low-frequency data are desirable to minimize the potential for cycle skipping and crucial for a successful FWI update. We apply

Fourier hybrid neural bathymetry network for active–passive fusion shallow water depth inversion

Applied Optics
In this study, a shallow water inversion method based on the Fourier hybrid neural bathymetry network is proposed to address the weak representation of spatial context in active–passive fusion bathymetry. The method uses Ice, Cloud, and land Elevation Satellite-2 laser bathymetry as the reference ground truth and combines Gaofen-2 ...

On the Solution of One Inverse Problem for Shallow Water Equations in a Pool of Variable Depth

Mathematical Models and Computer Simulations, 2021
The problem of the propagation of waves of small amplitude on the surface of shallow water in a reservoir of variable depth is considered. The Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) equation with a variable coefficient taking into account both the bottom profile and the geometric divergence of waves is obtained from the system of shallow water equations.

Droplet size spectra and water-vapor concentration of laboratory water clouds: inversion of Fourier transform infrared (500–5000 cm^-1) optical-depth measurement

Applied Optics, 1997
Infrared extinction optical depth (500-5000 cm(-1)) has been measured with a Fourier transform infrared spectrometer for clouds produced with an ultrasonic nebulizer. Direct measurement of the cloud droplet size spectra agree with size spectra retrieved from inversion of the extinction measurements. Both indicate that the range of droplet sizes is 1-14

Temperature inversions at intermediate depths in the Antarctic Intermediate waters of the South-western Pacific

Australian Journal of Marine and Freshwater Research, 1990
Deep (about 1000 m) marked temperature inversions and/or salinity reversals found in conductivity- temperature-depth profiles in the south-western Pacific for 1985 to 1987 are shown to arise from confluences of different branches of the Antarctic Intermediate Water (AAIW).
