By analyzing the water temperature characteristics of evaporation ponds, we can deeply understand the energy balance characteristics of evaporation ponds, study the calculation error sources of Penman model, and improve the model, which is of great ...

Fluxes of Energy and Water Vapour from Grazed Pasture on a Mineral Soil in the Waikato [PDF]
The eddy covariance (EC) technique was used to measure half hourly fluxes of energy and evaporation from 15 December 2007 to 30 November 2008 at the Scott Research Farm, located 7 km east of Hamilton.

We describe detailed protocols for the purification and preparation of Marchantia polymorpha Auxin Response Factor 2 (MpARF2). This protein is fused to an MBP solubility tag and an mNG fluorescent tag and is purified from Escherichia coli. The presented procedures make it possible to study MpARF2 assemblies, which could arise from phase separation ...

The presence of biotin‐binding avidin proteins in fish and their biological significance are poorly characterized. We cataloged fish avidins and demonstrate that they are widely present and evolutionarily conserved. We created avd knockout zebrafish and show that zebavidin is dispensable for development and that resistance of avd knockout embryos in ...

Hybrid hydrovoltaic electricity generation driven by water evaporation
Water evaporation is a ubiquitous natural process exploiting thermal energy from ambient environment. Hydrovoltaic technologies emerged in recent years offer one prospective route to generate electricity from water evaporation, which has long been ...

In this study, a novel esterase from the thermoacidophilic archaeon Thermoplasma acidophilum was biochemically and structurally characterized. Our results demonstrate that Ta0887 is a highly thermostable esterase that preferentially hydrolyzes p‐nitrophenyl hexanoate and possesses an α‐helical cap domain that likely contributes to its substrate ...

Sertraline Treatment Can Mimic Niemann‐Pick Type C Biomarker Profile: A Diagnostic Pitfall
ABSTRACT Background Oxysterols (cholestane‐3β,5α,6β‐triol and 7‐ketocholesterol) and N‐palmitoyl‐O‐phosphocholineserine (PPCS) are sensitive biomarkers for Niemann‐Pick disease type C (NPC) screening. However, false‐positive results occur, with a biomarker profile suggestive of NPC despite the absence of pathogenic variants in genes involved in NPC or ...

Comparison of precise water depth measurements on agricultural storages with open-water evaporation estimates [PDF]
[Abstract]: A simple technique to determine evaporation and seepage losses of agricultural water storages is described. Evaporation is calculated from Automatic Weather Station (AWS) variables using the Penman-Monteith equation, and seepage is determined

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.
