[Water for human consumption and health].

Annali di igiene : medicina preventiva e di comunita, 2003
Providing enough water of good quality to all human communities is a difficult task, which has been satisfied only recently and only for the developed world. A large part of the developing world still suffers from scarcity and/or bad quality of water supply.

[Normative evolution of waters for human consumption].

Annali di igiene : medicina preventiva e di comunita, 2003
Recent laws (D.Lgs 339/1999 and 31/2001) have allowed the bottling and sale of spring water and of table water provided they are not defined as "mineral", "natural" or "mineralized", but without characteristics that constitute a danger to human health. The Water Footprint: The Relation Between Human Consumption and Water Use

2015
It is increasingly recognised that freshwater scarcity and pollution are to be understood in a global context. Local water depletion and pollution are often closely tied to the structure of the global economy. With increasing trade between nations and continents, water is more frequently used to produce export goods.

[Diseases transmitted through water for human consumption].

Annali di igiene : medicina preventiva e di comunita, 2004
The water for human consumption maintains a biological risk and can transmit diseases. The classical waterborne and the presently frequent diseases caused by protozoi Giardia and Cryptosporidium are considered and Arcobacter butzleri, a new waterborne pathogen, is described.

EVALUATION OF WATER RECLAMATION SYSTEMS AND ANALYSIS OF RECOVERED WATER FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION

1967
Abstract : Analyses were made of water recovered from human urine and from atmospheric condensate collected during manned tests inside a sealed chamber. Data on more than 200 samples were prepared for comparison with that of distilled water and tap water and with U.S. Public Health Standards for drinking water.

Chemometrics to evaluate the quality of water sources for human consumption

Microchimica Acta, 2006
The present study reveals the importance of chemometric data treatment in the interpretation of environmental monitoring data sets by supervised and unsupervised techniques such as two-way and three-way principal components analysis on the one hand and tree partitioning on the other.

GUIDELINES FOR RISK MANAGEMENT OF CYANOBACTERIA IN ITALIAN WATERS DESTINED TO HUMAN CONSUMPTION

2011
There is growing evidence that the spatial and temporal incidence of harmful algal blooms is increasing in freshwater basins, posing potential risks to human health, ecosystem sustainability and water supply. The management of cyanobacteria and cyanotoxins in source and by treatment water is one of the priority issues in the research activity of many ...

Sustainable Water Consumption, Foreign Direct Investment and the Human Right to Water

2019
This chapter sketches a picture of the entry of the private sector into the water business through foreign direct investment. It does so against the backdrop of the worldwide demand for sustainable water consumption and the human right to water. A region-by-region inventory of the global water crisis is detailed to show the full extent of ‘peak water’.
