Dynamic Phase Transformation Mechanisms in Ti48Al5Nb2Cr0.6Re0.1C Alloy With Heterogeneous Layered Microstructure

open access: yesRare Metals, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introducing solid‐state phase transformations into the design of heterogeneous structures is considered an effective strategy for simultaneously optimizing both microstructure and mechanical properties. This study investigates the thermodynamic and kinetic mechanisms of the γ → α transformation in Ti48Al5Nb2Cr0.6Re0.1C alloy under different ...

High‐Performance Sodium‐Ion Capacitors With Kinetics‐Matched Characteristics Enabled by N/O/S‐Doped Homologous Carbon Electrodes Derived From a Single Precursor

open access: yesRare Metals, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Sodium‐ion capacitors (SICs) offer high energy and power density with long cycle life, but developing kinetically compatible electrodes remains challenging. This work developed a simple and sustainable strategy to synthesize homologous carbon electrodes from the inner shells of durian husks (ISDH) for high‐performance SICs.

Constructing a Favorable Microenvironment for Robust Hydrogen Storage in MgH2 Through Synergistic Cooperation With Mn and Mg2Ni

open access: yesRare Metals, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Weakening the electrostatic attraction between Mg2+ ions and H− ions in MgH2 is vital for improving the kinetic performance of MgH2 for hydrogen storage. Herein, a multivalent microenvironment is synergistically created by Mn and Mg2Ni to break the stable structure of MgH2, enabling rapid and stable de/hydrogenation performance.

The Dependence of Properties on Structural Features in Macro/Micro Levels for PBF‐LB Fabricated Porous NiTi Alloy

open access: yesRare Metals, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Porous NiTi alloys are widely used in biomedical and engineering fields. Using the PBF‐LB technique, the TPMS and Voronoi porous parts with a porosity of ∼67% and a minimum feature size of 0.15 ± 0.02 mm were fabricated. Although the bulk sample fabricated with the same parameters is defect‐free, μ‐CT reconstruction on the porous sample ...
